Think of the hypocrisy of the situation. A fighter that has not had one professional boxing match and no more than a few months experience Is granted a license to fight a guy with 49 professional fights and 23 years of experience, yet they must follow the rules pertaining to glove size.

You also have to laugh at the fact that Floyd was more than willing to fight Mcgregor at 154 yet he couldn't do It for Canelo and forced the fight to be at 152 after trying to get him to agree to 147, 150, 151 and ultimately 152. Then they tried to force Canelo to keep quiet and not to mention anything about the fact that they came up with the weight of 152.

"They said we were idiots, we were ******, that we were the ones that wanted the catchweight."

I still don't understand why floyd made the fight at 154 and not 147 i don't see how its for the bigger gloves hes already faced bigger punchers than mcgreggor? unless they believed the hype about his power? Connor looks like death at 145, 147 and a rehydration limit would be a huge advantage

He could have used 10oz gloves at 147. 8oz are only allowed if both fighters agree.

It's just a ploy to make everyone think that Floyd would wear it.

Omfg...now the question from some of you Is why didn't mayweather have the fight at 147? Prolly because once he beats the crap outta McGregor, the excuse would be that he weight drained him....damned if he do damned if he don't. Sounds to me like alot of people who talked s#it about this fight are now tuning in. I've got people at work that NEVER watch boxing that are tuning just to see him lose lmao. This dude is a genius man.

http://www.boxingscene.com/saul-alvarez-ill-drop-150-floyd-mayweather-jr--46563 Floyd didn't force anything. He gave Canelo 2 pounds. Canelo wanted 150 at one time.

                  Quelle surprise!!!

Floyd knows they would come out and say this, that's why he said it.

Floyd has been retired 2 years and won't have been walking around at 147. They announced the fight at quite short notice for such a huge event. Maybe Floyd knows 154 or 147 doesn't matter, it's a mismatch, so he can just train and not worry too much about making a weight limit.
