  • Comments Thread For: Andre Ward No Longer The Target For Tony Bellew

Any proposed bout between Tony Bellew and light-heavyweight king Andre Ward looks to be dead in the water. Bellew, the WBC Emeritus cruiserweight champion, could instead be about to go back into the ring with David Haye for a second time. The Liverpudlian is expected to fight before the end of 2017 and an announcement on his next opponent appears to be not far away.

Far bigger U.K. Draw and payday rematch with Haye dwarfs Ward fight the way to go.

Are you implying Ward undefeated for 20 years scared of another man for career high payday? Silly rabbit

As a fan I wasn't really interested in that fight to begin with. Would like to see Ward take on the rest of the light heavies before moving up but that might not happen either

Bellew is a bottom feeder not worthy of a Ward fight

Tony Bellew is a fringe boxer with a weak jaw who got clobbered by Stevenson and never asked for a rematch. Now skinny gizzard neck bellew wants to fight that clown Haye who is also worthless.

It's a rubbish fight anyway. Reminds me of Garcia vs Broner in the sense that the only element of jeopardy is that the inferior fighter has a size advantage

Honestly I don't think Ward has any business above light heavyweight, despite what he tried to say. He's not particularly big at the weight he's at.

Same goes for Bellew and heavyweight really, he should go back to cruiser. Only reason he could compete against Haye was because Haye's a former cruiser also. Besides, there are better fights for both. Honestly I'm just tired of all this side-show weight class hopping too, that needs to stop.
