Well, I can't blame Davis, he'd get taken to school right now but I can see that fight happening down the line at 135.

I already explained why. Salido priced himself out the last two times they negotiated with him. Loma called out every titleholder at 126 and 130 to fight him along with Salido and Garcia, despite Garcia being at 135. Sosa was a replacement for Salido and Marriaga is also a replacement for Salido. The pizza boy was Top 10 ranked, the WBA Regular titleholder and knocked out Fortuna. Remember that Fortuna guy? Salido turned down what would've been his highest payday to fight Loma. Gervonta won't fight Loma until he starts to slip. Berchelt wanted to fight Miura instead of Loma and now he's injured. Corrales is with GB and won't ever be allowed to get near Loma. He arguably lost his last fight against a nobody. Those are the champs at 130.

At 126 there's no interesting fights for Loma. Valdez is still being groomed and Arum sure as hell isn't putting him in there with Lomachenko who is at 130 and looking to move to 135. Rigo? He's too much talk and he's too small. They're two divisions apart. Loma's manager Egis Klimas just offered Rigo the fight next if he wants it. Rigo called him out so he can move up to 130 or stop posting ****** memes on Twitter acting as if Loma is ducking when Rigo is the one that caused their fight not to happen back in 2015. The last guy Rigo fought brought a Chucky doll into the ring and now he's fighting the same guy again because he hit him after the bell and he (Flores) tried to get him DQ'ed by acting like he was knocked out. At least pizza boy didn't give up and lie down like Flores after a round. Garcia said he'd stay at 135 and wait for Loma but then took a fight with Broner at 140. He also wants Loma to prove himself at 135 first before fighting him for his title. Flanagan is injured so that fight couldn't get made. Fighting him and then Garcia in that order was what Top Rank wanted to do, with Garcia or Pac at the end of the year. Pac just lost controversially.

Floyd won't allow Tank to fight Loma until he's old or loses a step. He's trying to fight Martinez now who hasn't fought in over a year after getting his head knocked off by Loma. His last opponent was his mandatory. Oscar Valdez hasn't fought anyone of note and he's had how many fights as a pro? He's had 22. Loma's only had 9 and already moved up to take titles in two divisions.

Why would he call out Valdez ? No-one wants to see that fight, just like no-one wants to see the Marriaga fight. If Marriaga is moving to 130 then he's at least a potential stay-warm opponent at 130 vs Valdez who has clearly stated intentions at 126.

There's basically nothing at 130 for Lomachenko except Berchelt, and Berchelt not back till 2018, so its either:

              1) Wait for Berchelt (means staying at 130 for another year, which would be a shame). And got a feeling Berchelt will want Corrales first.

              2) Rigo at 130 (Arum would only offer Rigo peanuts, ain't going to happen)

              3) Salido at 130 (Loma wants the revenge, but not sure worth spending 6 months of his career on if he's only fighting twice a year)

Basically a bunch of stuff at 130 that either won't happen or is a waste of time (maybe a Russell rematch could happen too, but doubt that would happen too).

But at 135 all sorts of good stuff opens up. Linares, Garcia, Flanagan, Easter, Commey, basically any of the top 10 135 guys is more interesting than anything at 130 other than Rigo.

Lets hope Loma makes the move and gets on with it at 135.

I didn't say he was but it does show his character when he decided to go into hostile territory to defend his belt. I don't think he's scared to fight Lomachenko but he isn't ready and would more than likely lose. Lomachenko wasn't ready to fight Salido in his 2nd fight but he went ahead anyway. That fight didn't prove anything and he probably should have waited.

Lomachenko isn't a big draw right now. That much is true.

This fight will be worth way more money down the road, after both guys build their name recognition some more.
