PPV Prices in the USA ($60-100) vs. UK ($15-25)

Hmm didn't know that obviously. How long did that last?
How much is the standard cable bill there? Or to add Sky specifically to your bill?Comment

Is the per capita income in the UK lower overall? Maybe because it is a smaller nation and less populated they feel they can make more by selling to a broader audience for less money rather than scalping a select few for a higher price?Comment

I think that after Haye vs Harrison they had one in 2011 (Haye again), a little gap, then one in 2013, one in 2014, and then in 2015 they opened the floodgates again and had three or four. So they didn't really drop it (although they definitely claimed they would) but just reduced the amount. I think PPV fatigue is starting to set in again and as soon as one of them turns out to be a dud, there will be another backlash. I actually thought Haye vs Bellew would be it, but the unexpected Bellew victory papered over the cracks for a little while longerComment

Sh^t thats expensive. I guess that makes sense then. I believe HBO costs $15 & it might be less if you get it with your cable bill but idk that for a fact.
But to break it down, assuming 4 PPV fights per year (honestly no clue how many PPV's per year Sky does so just pulling that # out of my ass)
HBO $15 x12 mos = $180, 4PPVs x $60avg? = $240 = $400/year
Sky $40 x12 mos = $480, 4PPV's x $20avg? = $80 = $560/year
So Sky is actually making out better than HBO it would seem even with the lower PPV price as far as the average boxing fan goes if my numbers are correct.Comment
