Ali: The Most Fixed Fighter of All Time

I can't say I've seen all of his fights and some I've flat out forgotten, but I've seen quite a few.

Below are the fixed fights I believe in and/or am aware of.

    Doug Jones
    Liston
    Ken Norton
    George Foreman
    Shavers

Details of the fixes for each fight? And specifically the Foreman fight. How was that fixed exactly?

If Ali was a fixer he wouldn't have 5 losses. He would have used his popularity to influence judges. If anything, his stance against the US government and his allegiance with the Nation of Islam should have resulted in more losses. He landed more punches and beat Frazier to a pulp in the first fight, but lost on decision. In the Foreman fight Foreman himself said he recognised how great a champion Ali was when he didn't throw a punch when Foreman was on the way to the canvas. In the Liston rematch if Liston really did take mob money to take a dive as people claim Ali would have left the Nation of Islam if they had ties to the Mafia, he was deeply religious and would have went against everything he believed in.

When it comes to fixes, they're bound to happen and I think it usually has nothing to do with the fighters but with the betting. A lot of money is made off the betting and what big fight is NOT BET ON? They all are. So I don't really pay attention to any guy having fights fixed for him. Look at Pac's last fight. Old Bob has a great investment in Australia and Mr. Horn benefitted in my opinion. However, Pac benefitted himself. He didn't fight the Aussie for peanuts. So in the end, you have to look at it as that no matter what happens, everyone goes home laughing because they made a lot more in one night than most people make a couple of years.

The Liston fights obviously were fixed. The Foreman fight I always wondered about and well, Ali coming in against the young crusher must have made for crazy betting. And well, I mean, Big George did tend to go straight after guys without a lot of thought toward stamina and Ali always seemed to have a good chin. So it's hard to say. Don't know about the others but it wouldn't surprise me.

I'd have to say though that any of the big names are competing in very possible fixes. Too much money at stake.

If Ali is involved in fixed fights, the winners don't usually know.

WTF are you talking about? Frazier whooped his ass and landed at will with his left hook and knocked him down. He broke his jaw also.

He knocked him down and Ali got straight up. Watch the fight again. Ali battered him. Frazier was just chasing after him the whole fight and landing sparingly, he spent 2 weeks in the hospital he was so tired chasing Ali.
