AB can't pull the trigger. Is he shot?

I think we can all agree how maddening it is to see Broner not letting his hands go. He takes too many liberties in the ring bottom line. He actually has decent power (Maidana saying he hit harder than Floyd) and has the chin to take even some of the worst power shots. But what gives? Mikey is a great ring tactician so of course finding flaws in his game would be hard but this is becoming a defining characteristic for Broner. He just doesn't throw near enough punches or have the quickness to strike first before he gets wailed on.

He was never that good. He got attention because he was "lil floyd".

On his own merit -- woulda been a needle in a haystack of prospects.

He's clearly not shot. He was pulling the trigger later on in the fight.

Its a weird thing with Broner. I think he almost sets himself up for failure in his biggest fights. He virtually gave away the early portions of the fights with Porter & Garcia only to look much better later & fought in a way that if he had fought that way the whole fight the outcome would have been closer or even going Broner's way. Even in the Maidana fight he had some of his best moments in the fight after he got embarrassed with knockdowns.

The guy is kinda a reluctant warrior with some sorta mental block or something idk, but he's for sure not shot.

Well AB must have been shot his whole career because Broner never lets his hands go when fighting top guys.

Needle in the haystack prospects aren't winning titles in 4 different weight divisions even vs the less the #1 guys Broner won those titles against. Broner might be the worst guy to win fights vs top ten guys in 4 different divisions, but that isn't the biggest group of cats who can do that either. Hell most guys don't even fight in 4 divisions at a high level in their whole career.

I can understand people dogging Broner, but to act like he's not of above average talent is wayyyyyy underselling him.

300-19 amateur record is pretty d*mn good. I think it was a lot more than just being Floyd's biggest fan that got him noticed. But yea for all his skill and ability, he sure can't handle adversity well.

I don't think he's grounded himself yet. He underestimates his opponents and ultimately won't step it up doing what's necessary to win the fight

I think his trainer was giving him great advice in between rounds.

What Broner needs is combination punching, thats it really. He pot shots too much and is looking for that one big shot all night.

He throws punches well, pretty good defense --- he has a lot of wasted talent. I can't believe I'm saying so many positive things about a person I hate with such venom.
