Fighters that need a new trainer

After last night I say Adrien Broner falls in that category.

    Some others:

    Joseph Parker
    Joe Smith Jr.
    Roman Gonzalez

Why Gonzalez? He doesn't have any glaring holes in his game that I can see

I've noticed a stagnation in him since Arnulfo Obando passed away. Like he isn't adding any new wrinkles to his game, just standing pat and possibly regressing a little.

I just chalked that up to his opposition getting bigger and better, plus 30 is pretty old for such a small guy. I think Roman is pretty much the finished article now and a very good one at that. Srisaket was a nightmare match-up and he still arguably won and will have the opportunity to make it official soon

As for fighters who could potentially benefit from a new trainer, how about James DeGale? He has some good tools but has been plagued by the same shortcomings since forever, and they actually seem correctable in theory

            Degale is a good shout.

Mcdonnel just doesnt have that top level knowledge, and for a guy who is big on fitness, Degale's gas tank is average. They seem to have a good personal relationship though so i doubt he changes.

I believe he dropped his trainer from the last fight and hired a Japanese one.

It's true that his opponents are getting bigger but that is where a good trainer could help him by coming up with adjustments and variations to deal with the size.

To be fair the best person for that would have been someone who knows him very well like Obando or Alexis Arguello. But they are gone now.

As for Degale...I agree. His style is pretty unique, though, so I wonder who would be a good upgrade for him to work with? Maybe Enzo Calzaghe?

That would be a huge mistake at this point of his career . Its on the fighter to execute in the ring not the trainer . Wlad even under Steward was like pulling teeth to do so , do you really think anyone besides crazy man Atlas who WOULD get through to him in the corner would make Wlad fight better? lol

Klitchko has his set regimen and ppl around him, bringing ina different trainer for a possible few more fights if that before retiring is a very bad idea bc Trainers need room to grow with the fighter .
