He's about two steps or so below the top guys at Light Welterweight and Welterweight. I'll use Andre Berto as a benchmark and say he's better than Berto.

I'd group him in the same level as Jessie Vargas, Lamont Peterson, Brandon Rios, and Lucas Matthysse right now.

The guys above this group in skill level would be Kell Brook, Terence Crawford, Errol Spence, Danny Garcia, And Keith Thurman.

Broner should fight Omar Figueroa, Lucas Matthysse, Kell Brook, or Danny Garcia. Humberto Soto and Jeff Horn are also good options.

How can you be a 4 division champ and light years away from being a HOFer?

      Right opponents and right time

Broner just isn't that good. Really hasn't been since the DeMarco fight
But not all fighters get praised for beating mediocre/bad fighters just because they went up in weight.

For example Cotto beating Foreman, that win was forgotten, it was Cotto's first fight at 154. Foreman was mediocre, which is why no one mentions that as a good win on Cotto's resume.

But on the other hand, watch people mention Broner as Garcia's best win (until he gets a better win). But then he's mediocre/bad? Makes no sense.

Depends on the opposition. That being said your "good" criteria is fking bonkers high for a fighter that's just "good" cracking the top 10 P4P list should earn you more than good status . You should have at least one more level between good and elite . I think he is good but doesn't meet that good criteria.

Right now he's a confused fighter. Before he was a terribly flawed fighter. It's embarrassing watching him try and imitate virtually everything Floyd does. At this stage he FINALLY figured out he can't just plant his feet and do a poor man's shoulder roll - but he took it a step too far. Now he's running and jumping all over the place like a crackhead.. He'll never be Floyd. He can imitate all the major aspects of his game but Broner has no sense of how and when to apply Mayweather's style and methodology. When Floyd is doing all that alternating movement he's trying to confuse and frustrate his opponent. Broner is doing it for no reason.. Even the little clear-out moves he does are Mayweather moves.. And that is obviously purposeless. Broner is an insecure little guy. He's a clown. I'm embarrassed for him watching this Garcia fight.

I meant to hit mediocre. Wtf dude? Anyways, broner is flashy and this fight proves his "4 division champion" bull**** is nonsense

If you want to see praise, see how this forum reacted when Marcos beat Broner. After each loss, the reaction for Broner losing has dwindled.

No one really cares about Broner. TBH I really don't see anyone rating Garcia as an ATG. No one is doing that.

Garcia was a 5-1 favorite going into the fight and nothing has changed. The better fighter won.

Those that know boxing, already knew this.

I'm more interested in Garcia vs Easter/Loma next

Broner has been crap since he left 135. And even then he was lucky to get decisions vs. Quintero and Ponce de Leon at 130.

Face it, he gets attention because of his mouth and antics, not his boxing ability.

                      Exactly my point

Guys like Larry put too much emphasis on titles and not who the person actually beat when he fought them and where that fighter was in his respective career.

Perfect example is when Cotto fought #4 Margarito in 2008 as opposed of fighting #1 JMW Cory Spinks for the title and his 3rd weight class. The latter would've been a Floyd move
