Miura is still good enough to beat most fighters and because his crowd pleasing style could easily get 1 or 2 more paydays. But he takes punches never a defensive fighter and sounds like he is choosing his health over money. I respect that thanks for the great fights he was a true warrior.

Some guys know when is enough.

Good luck to both champs and warriors. This division is always good.

Good decision. Retire with your health intact. Solid fighter, good legacy.

Sad news... but great decision..., I actually feel sad to see Miura go... but yeah, definitely they know when they've had enough and they don't have unrealistic expectations for their careers beyond what their bodies can do. Instead are grateful for what they have achieved; So admirable. Sadmirable...

The Japanese guys seem to have the most sense and get out when they can't do it at the highest level anymore. I guess they must have a certain amount of pride that they should be at their best unlike a lot of American fighters who hang on whoring for more paychecks when they probably should have called it a day a long time ago.

I feel Takachi Miura can go the extra mile.... at least 2 fights before retirement
