I've got a sneaking su****ion that Broner will surprise a few people in this fight, I've just got this feeling that there'll be an upset. That said, I think Farhood is being a little naive. Anyone who knows anything about Broner should realise exactly why people rate his chances so poorly. Broner's career and his life outside the ring have been nothing short of a train wreck over the past couple of years.

Skill beats size to a certain extent. Broner is not that big and he only has above average power. Nothing crazy. Garcia is far more skilled. Broner can only fight in close and he can't fight backing up. So I expect Mikey to keep his distance and then later in the fight start walking him down.

broner has come up short in all his biggest fights. what is his best win? scraping by Paulie M? Ashley theophane with 6 losses? undersized ponce de leon?

Broner is a 3 division champion who has never beat anyone near as good as Garcia his whole career.

And out of all these fights over 3 divisions, he doesnt have any GOOD wins. Every time he has stepped up, he comes up short.

I hate Broner but I really think he wins. I don't think Mikey can handle Broner power.

You have to take styles into consideration. Garcia has never faced a slick black brotha. Not saying Broner is so slick but he has speed and he isnt going to be a stationary target like Garcia's previous opponents. Broner isnt just gonna walk straight towards him without giving him something to think about.

Garcia is a patient fighter, dont let the Dejuan fight fool you. He isnt an aggressive attacker that walks you down but against someone like broner, you have to take the fight to him . That is why Maidana and Porter beat him.

Garcia doesnt fight that way and Broner just might beat him.

It's because they believe his skills are diminished and on the decline. That's the reason why Team Garcia is taking this fight.

I don't know why this is a shock. There's no second gear with Broner. He gets in rhythm and stay there no matter how the fight is going. If he's ahead he stays ahead. If he's behind he stays behind. Unless he's knocking Mikey out, he's losing a decision or getting a gift.

I'm actually seeing an Easter Jr fight as being more competitive for Garcia. Bonehead just doesn't seem to have gear #2 to blast thru when things get complicated. Barring a KO, Garcia's boxing talent will be more than Bonehead can deal with IMO. And afterwards, the network should ignore Bonehead for a post fight interview, because it will be an even more wacko version of his usual bitterness.

People let their dislike for Broner cloud their judgement as to his in-ring ability. He's not a world beater. But he's not trash either. Mikey is a technically superior fighter. But the gap isn't as wide as people pretend it is. And folks are basically ignoring the size difference and the styles of the two fighters. And how when you look at the size and styles, it seems like Broner is gonna be allowed to fight his fight. Which makes him pretty tough to beat. Especially for a naturally smaller guy.

I'm not a Broner fan at all, in fact, I'm a Mikey fan so I didn't like this matchup. Maybe Mikey can take it to the judges. But that'll be a long, hard night.
