Because Top Rank needed to fill an ESPN date and, for less than $350k, he was able to secure a top-notch co feature, to go with whatever mismatch is likely coming with it.

Even the article notes that Beterbiev is still under contract with GYM, GYM and Beterbiev are having a legal dispute that will, at the earliest, have it's hearing in November, and that everyone circling the situation is making it painfully clear the Beterbiev is still under a binding contract to GYM.

No talk of any final fight on the deal, no talk of Beterbiev and Top Rank negotiating, etc.

        Nice try, though

Even on the Broner-Garcia card, you had 10 fights with maybe 6 fighters tied with Haymon. Haymon, Mayweather Promotions, Greg Cohen/Salita, Lou DiBella, Matchroom Sport, and independent fighters all got a chance on the show.

You rarely, if ever, see a PBC show featuring one promotional company, lol.
crawford vs felix did was a co promotion and so is Crawford Indongo. How do u dillian whyte got on the card. Top rank does it all the time.

Pbc only does business with its sham promoters. Big baby Miller being the exception and Mikey garcia who never signed with Haymon

it says the lawyers believe he will be a free agent in November. Do u read contracts better than educated lawyers? Have u seen his contract?

No they don't. They need another spot for Verdejo now that Flanagan is pushed back. They have plenty of guys they can put in that slot and it's not even a good fight. Beterbiev should blow him out in 5 rounds.

I would say pbc could use the fight but they have no room. Only one more fox card this year and a couple of showtime time dates besides the small platform fox cards.

That's why porter is taking short money to stay active. Wilder wanted to fight in July by pbc had no date for him so he's pushed back to November. Devon alexander and quillin wanted to come back but pbc has no too many fighters for their declining pool of tv dates. Poor Abner mares won't get his first fight of the year till October. Talk about not building on the momentum of his big win over Cuéllar in December. Poor leo will have been out 9 months after his big win.

Pbc needs to trim down to 50-75 fighters for the amount of dates they have. One time thurman probably won't even get his December return he wants and Spence wanted two more fights this year but no dates.

That's why guys like beterbiev want to move to top rank where they are rewriting contracts to guarantee 3 fights a year

Mayweather Promotions and DiBella Entertainment just co-promoted an event, with other promoters participating as well.

They shared the actual promotional duties, figured out the press stuff together with Showtime, jointly figured out the fights that ended up on the card, and actually put on the show together.

Crawford-Diaz was a 9-fight card that literally featured 9 bouts with Top Rank fighters as the overwhelming favorite, lol.

Crawford-Indongo is literally a 10-fight card, featuring 9 fights where the Top Rank fighter is the overwhelming favorite, with the only fight breaking that mold being Dillian Whyte vs TBA.

What the heck are you talking about?

Lou dibella was part of the promotion. I agree with u though. He did a terrible job in Helping promote the fight. Took his cut of the money and ran

u miss the point. Lou Dibella is the sham promoter of record on the fight since pbc doesn't have a promoters license. I of course he has fighters on the card. Broner and garcia don't have promoters. Neither does Charlo. So one of the pbc sham promoters has to use their license. In exchange for that, pbc allows the sham promoter to have some off tv slots.

I'm glad u mentioned Mayweather promotions. How many fighters did they have on the card? The only reason they were inflicted is because of floyd being friends with Broner. What did they bring to the table. That was just Haymon appeasing floyd.

They used to make a while lot more. I think guys max out at 40k since the Reebok deal.

And if you believe those disclosed paydays are the only money UFC guys are getting you don't know sh^t about MMA. Its common knowledge UFC champions & draws get PPV points.

Being that this fight did in the range of 1M+ based on current sources & is probably among the top ten all time UFC PPV's, Jon for sure made in the high 7 digits ($7M, $8M, $9M) & may have breached 8 digits. I'd assume Cormier would be close to Jon's number & perhaps more (although I'd bet against it as historically he's not did as well PPV-draw-wise than Jon so I don't he gets a bigger PPV cut then Jon despite being champion going into this fight).
