Will Broner Be Drained With No Punch Resistance Like Oscar vs Pac (2 pounds under)

De La Hoya weighed 145, 2 pounds under the 147 limit, for the Pac fight and had to be intravenously replenished with liquids prior to the fight. Freddie Roach himself said he knew Pac would win when he saw the puncture wounds in his arm before the first bell rang which means it was problematic for De La Hoya to retain liquids due to being dangerously low in weight. Oscar's punch resistance and overall performance were clearly effected by attempting to make weight.

With Broner coming in 2 pounds under at 138, is it plausible he may experience some of the same issues that De La Hoya did that night?

Both Broner and Mikey had to lose a lot of weight for this fight, so I think all things should be equal going in. There can't be any excuses, Broner said he was ready and would have no trouble making weight. Both are still in their prime, Oscar was not in his prime when he lost to Pac.

      different scenarios.

Broner was 140 1/2 pounds last fight and the fight before that, he was at 139 1/2. Him not making weight is due to him being lazy and not because he outgrew the division.

Before his fight with pacquiao, de la hoya hasnt weighed in at 147 in nearly 8 years. He physically couldnt do 147 under normal circumstances and was a corpse on fightnight.

No Broner not even a natural 147 guy. Hell he's never even came in at 147. I think 146 for both Paulie and Maidana and 144 vs Porter.

          What...?

Do you even know anything about weight cutting and being drained?

One is risking being drained while the other one had weight on that he could had still lost COMFORTABLY.

Mikey walks around at around 160, so even though he is technically coming up in weight class, he still had to cut a lot of weight for this fight.

Broner looked really good at the weigh in today and slimmed down to a similar physique we saw when he was at 135 years ago.

Didn't seem drained, looked fast and energetic, seemed his regular witty self. On top of that, for the first time in a long time he looks REALLY motivated.

I think we have ourselves a very good fight on our hands, I'm excited.

Broner is much younger than Oscar.

                    Garcia 139 1/4 lbs

                    Broner 138 3/4 lbs

If you round off the numbers they both weighed in at 139lbs!!!

Their weigh in weight means NOTHING!
