GGG has looked more impressive because he's fought softer guys. You could also say "Do you think GGG would've beat Lara or Trout, guys who can actually move and aren't just there to collect some lay down money". Bottom line they've both been well managed but Canelo has fought tougher competition. It's just that the media and HBO has made Golovkin into some sort of monster because they want him to be the next big star in boxing. But this matchup, against a guy who has only just moved up, is his biggest test by far. That says a lot. We'll see who's better.

He's actuall telling the truth. Canelo has power, but it's not devestating one punch knockout power.

Guys like glass chin Khan and Kirkland get floored all the time.

Guys smaller than him, Matthew Hatton (I understand this was when he was younger but the point being Canelo had a significant size advantage), old Mosley, punching bag Angulo (was upright and conscious when the ref stopped the fight) and Cotto could not be knocked out. Punching bag zombie Chavez Jr. went 12.

Canelo has power but not devestating power. Abel Sanchez is right in this instance.

completely disagree with Sanchez, as usual

he said all that same stuff about Ward/Kovalev

and, this applies to Golovkin just as much as Canelo.....
" Who has [Alvarez] knocked out that you could say, ‘Yeah, that was a great KO of a guy who is tough to KO? "

..... not Danny Jacobs that's for sure..... Danny had been knocked out before, and yet he gave Golovkin fits

there is just as much justification to question Golovkin's power/skills against top opposition

          Agreed !!

but I would also add timing/technique

he lands the right punch at the right time

Sanchez is dumb but the same f@ggots who run in to defend Canelo non stop are equally annoying....

                oh shh....

too many good points to quote

that pretty much sums everything up

Canelo will have enough in his arsenal to keep Golovkin honest

the more skilled fighter will win, but the guy with the best corner/gameplan will have a big advantage

Abel takes sooooo much for granted

his gameplan for Barrera, and his comments following Ward/Kovalev II..... look they were made by two completely different people

He would have crushed both Trout and Lara: because they are smaller (154). If Angulo could cut the ring and knockdown Lara... well...
I think you misinterpret Canelo for a pressure fighter, which he isn't; his feet are too slow. He has good upper body movement though.

And isn't Canelo fighting on HBO?

And isn't Canelo fighting on HBO?
That's just speculation though, the way I look at it is - Jacobs was the first guy who fought Gennady who really came to win. I'm sure some of the other guys wanted to win, but for the most part they were there to collect a cheque more than anything else. Lara's got better since then and wasn't there a situation where he offered to fight Golovkin and they turned it down? Obviously he and his team didn't think it was going to be easy. All i'm saying is he's fought "very good" fighter and it's debatable that he won. Canelo's fought Trout, Lara, Cotto, Mayweather.

I know Canelo's actually more of a boxer than a puncher, but he's a boxer who can also punch, which is why I see him winning the fight. He's going to be smart and open up when he needs to. I think GGG is actually slower than Canelo, it's just, because the guys he fights are even slower he looks fast compared to them

Canelo is with HBO but GGG is their guy, they're totally in love with him
