If this is PPV, it is not Showtimes or HBOs doing/ It means the licensing fees that Hearn is asking for is too high.
If Wlad has the US broadcast rights instead of hearn, it will mean it is K2 asking for too high of a price.Comment

how so? An average of 650k for the love matinee airing on showtime, and an average of 1.6m homes to watch the re-air on hbo. Even if you count the folks who tuned in for both broadcasts, you're still talking about 2m homes which ended up tuning in for the fight.
The first fight was a really good fight, it's a heavyweight title fight, the last fight was seen by 2m homes, and you've got two individuals who can run the press gauntlet with no issues.
Purchasing fatigue may pay a factor (unlike alvarez-golovkin, the november date would give matchroom sport and whomever they partner with in the us a full six weeks to build up their own event), but you're kidding yourself if you're banking on the event flopping.
The uk money isn't going away, the german money isn't either and, at $65 with 2m homes watching the first fight, the us money goes from the $3m that showtime and hbo paid to $10m as the take on the ppv without much hassle.Comment

Not a good idea.. but I can see why they would want a ppv for this.. it would be hard to pay the fighters just off what the regular gate generatesComment

They just got £15m+ each for the first fight in the UK, so obviously they're going to want to get paid something along those lines for the rematch too. Any fight away from the UK will cost AJ a lot of money, basicallyComment

Don't ruin a good thing. They should have the fight on free television in Texas so 100k people can attend. The gate,
site fee, television rights, and advertising should be more than enough to pay the fighters a huge sum plus drum up momentum for boxing on public channels. Selling this fight on PPV will be a money losing debacle.Comment

HBO or SHO's cut as distributor is 7.5% of what is left after the cable system takes their 30-50%. If you were given inaccurate information, we apologize, but these are the true figures.
Best of luck with everything and thank you for supporting the great sport of boxing.Comment
