Heard Yafai/Ishida is on it, Id imagine Katie Taylor fighting for a world title, probably 1 other decent matchup, and then a load of the Matchroom prospects. Major mistake making it PPVI doubt any of those fights are possible with Hearn running the show. If Wlad is a free agent then maybe Eddie can get some other fights in there but with it being televised by both HBO and Showtime, I doubt that anything US PPV worthy would be added.
The fight card in Wembley didn't have much on there to begin withComment

How so? An average of 650k for the love matinee airing on Showtime, and an average of 1.6m homes to watch the re-air on HBO. Even if you count the folks who tuned in for both broadcasts, you're still talking about 2m homes which ended up tuning in for the fight.
The first fight was a really good fight, it's a heavyweight title fight, the last fight was seen by 2m homes, and you've got two individuals who can run the press gauntlet with no issues.
Purchasing fatigue may pay a factor (unlike Alvarez-Golovkin, the November date would give Matchroom Sport and whomever they partner with in the US a full six weeks to build up their own event), but you're kidding yourself if you're banking on the event flopping.
The UK money isn't going away, the German money isn't either and, at $65 with 2m homes watching the first fight, the US money goes from the $3m that Showtime and HBO paid to $10m as the take on the PPV without much hassle.Comment

It's a good idea if you're HBO. They know Klitschko will most likely lose and never fight again. They know SHO has Joshua under contract. Might as well maximize revenue while minimizing Joshua's exposure.Originally posted by The TimeYeah man, not a good idea.
Joshua's first fight in the U.S. should not be on PPV.Comment

Best for who? SHO has AJ, not HBO.Originally posted by The TimeThe fight won't be watched by many people in the U.S. though.
It's best to familiarize Joshua with a lot more of the American audience.
The American PPV portion of Joshua-Klitschko 2 won't have many buys and means less people in the U.S. will get to see Joshua.
Why would HBO want to do what's best for AJ?Comment

Anthony Joshua has had his last four fights featured, live, on Showtime, drawing better and better US numbers as folks got to know who he was. To assume that Joshua is some unknown quantity in the US is laughable. The first fight did over 1.5million PPV and had 90k fans in a stadium.. If the rematch is on PPV in the US, it won't even do 90k in buys.
AJ is a big star n all but not in the US. How can you charge PPV for his first debut fight in the US? lol. Vlad's fights have been shown in the US for years and he's even fought there but he's never been on PPV there.
This fight is supposed to be on Showtime and HBO.. AJ's been given the 2 biggest platforms to expose him to US market and they want to go and put it on PPV.
In a perfect world, Showtime (Joshua's US TV partner) would get the fight outright and Showtime/CBS would weigh out the TV chances of having the rematch on CBS (with things being in the thick of football season, I doubt that that'd be much of an option) or gauging the public interest for the fight as a possible PPV (nothing real scientific about it, but if the interest in a fight is such that T-Mobile Arena is basically sold out before anything else is announced, you're likely talking about a fight that merits PPVComment

lol, if they messed around and put all three of those fights on the same bill, I doubt if you'd even pay for the PPV then.
Joshua-Klitschko was arguably fight of the year, and yet the rematch can't even be considered for PPV? lolComment
