Comments Thread For: Warren Says "Six Figure Sum" Offered To Buglioni To Fight Yarde

Promoter Frank Warren has told Boxing Scene that British light heavyweight champion Frank Buglioni was offered a six-figure sum to fight his man Anthony Yarde later this year. Yarde, unbeaten in 12 starts, ranked 8 by the WBO and making a name for himself on BT Sport, had been nominated by the British Boxing Board of Control to fight the Joe Gallagher trained Hosea Burton in a British title eliminator. The board also ordered Buglioni to fight Burton's stable mate Callum Johnson in his second title defence.

This is typical of Warren's hated feud with the BBBofC & want of 100% control of British Boxing (IE the Lonsdale belt title doesn't matter). Doe's anyone remember his attempt to start his own so called NBC(National Boxing Council)? Maybe FW should arrange for AY to fight for the genuine EBU title instead of the worthless WBO European (Warren's Boxing Odour) bauble & then try to stage Yarde vs Buglioni/Johnson with all 3 meaningful title's on the line?!!......

                Good money!

If Frank lost he still has those Johnson and Burton fights there. Even Summers again.

Buglioni is a well known name in the UK and it would be a big fight with a big viewership. If Yarde does a job on him it could be big for his career.

Obviously Buglioni isn't a world beater but career wise it's a good fight to chase.

I mean look at Taylor, he just made a name off the back of Ohara Davies and could possibly get Burns, and I think this fight would be bigger.

Pointless call out from Frank considering the BBBoC have ordered Buglioni vs Callum Johnson and Yarde vs Burton.

Two excellent domestic fights in my opinion.

Why would Buglioni drop his belt? Why doesnt Yarde fight Burton who is a good fighter and easily his biggest test so far? Hearn and Burton seem up for it

Yarde will probably fight another no hoper from the WBO rankings and we will continue to not have a clue how good he is or can be.
