I get that the result of this fight has probably ruined 2017 for you. In the last month you've probably wrote over 100k words about the subject crying into your keyboard trying to come to grips that Ward won and Kov lost.

Kov wanted to give up in round 8. He turned away from Ward , then he exaggerated a punch looking for time then he went in a defenceless position to end the fight

Ward focused on the body after Kov tried to exaggerate that punch.

I wish Kov had as much resolve in that fight as you do defending his honour on here.

how do you know he was exaggerating a punch? so many mind readers on here. you guys should be reading fortunes or something with your talents. he was reacting to being hit low(and yes it was low according to weeks earlier in the fight) why does that=exaggerating? maybe he was trying to get points deducted, maybe he was trying to call attention to being hit low, maybe his nuts hurt. you dont know and it doesnt matter because playing mind reader doesnt matter. all that matters or should matter ist he rules. the ref said those punches were low and yet he let ward throw them. you are basically saying kovalev should have known the fight was fixed in wards favor and done something to calibrate for that. sure that would have been great but thats a tough thing to expect.

I do know the rules of boxing very well actually. I just don't see Ward-Kovalev the way you do.

Posters who have been here long enough know you don't like Ward because of the Kessler fight. Believe it or not, I never liked watching Ward fights those days, either, because I found him terribly boring. If you read my first reply to you, I mentioned I wasn't a big Ward fan, so calling me a fanboy was out of place.

Your right the exaggerated part is my opinion. All the points you mentioned are also valid reasons but to me in my opinion he exaggerated that punch

I just viewed it as Ward straddling the line while trying to put in work on Kov body. This wasn't Bowe/Golata

well to me if he wanted to exaggerate a punch he would have hit the canvas like so many others have done. seems like hes being judged against others in the past and their possible overacting/overreacting. maybe hes just not that kind of person?

so a low blow has to be that blatant to be considered low? it only has to cross the line in which the ref said "anything below here is low" wards punches did that hence they were low. were they only 3 inches lower compared to golotas entire foot lower? sure but the same sentiment remains. both were not legal. it doesnt matter what ward was trying to do. what matters is what happened. maybe bowe was trying to put in body work??? we arent here to make these kind of judgement calls. the rules about low blows arent very flexible. the ref laid them out pre fight, started following them in the first couple rounds, then completely threw out everything he previously said and did when the worst of the low blows happened.

why not focus on what actually happened instead of making things up? kov was hurt, was moving around and slipping most the shots ward threw, ward threw 3 low blows, and the fight was stopped. did low blows become legal when a fighter is hurt? is it like the finishing move or something?

Kovalev did this to himself.

He was complaining, turning his back, bending over, for like 4 rounds straight.

The stoppage did nothing to alter how that fight was going, it just stole away the opportunity for Ward's defining moment of his career to drop Kovalev for good to end the fight instead of the ref taking mercy.

I didn't like the stoppage at all, but the fact of the matter is Kovalev got his ass beat and was straight outclassed.
