Also, even before the stoppage, what was Kovalev doing turning his back to Ward? That's a clear sign a fighter wants to quit.

hmmm thats strange. the ref himself said these were low in his pre fight instructions. the ref himself said they were low in round 2 when he warned ward for low blows so do you agree with round 2 weeks or round 8 weeks who suddenly changed his mind? you are seriously trying to debate these arent low? whats the point? he missed it. its clear they were low.

I don't make any excuses for the 1st fight. And the 2nd I'm just annoyed it was between TWO P4P Top #5 Boxers on PPV for CHAMPIONSHIP BELTS/ P4P #1 and stopped a lil too early. Robbed Andre of a GREAT TKO or maybe KOv. could come back?? Who knows now...

I agree. The fight should have ended more decisively.

I'm probably one of the few people that actually like both fighters so I would've been fine with a Kovalev win.

Borderline punches can be ruled either way. Depends on the ref.

There's almost a universal consensus among boxing experts (both current and former fighters) alike that Kovalev was indeed punked by Ward in their bout. Hell even Sergey's own trainer, chief second and corner men all say the same thing that their fighter was very fatigued in the fight and quit. Neither of them protested the stoppage because he was done.

The ref didn't call them so I can only assume he didn't see the low blows. As far as the ref is concerned Kovalev was in pain from body shots. Is that alternative that hard to believe?

Would you be this vocal about the outcome if Kovalev won the fight the way Ward did?
