I'll be watching Mayweather-McGregor at a friends house. They are going to show it through a projector on a screen up against a wall through an online stream. And on the TV the Cotto-Kamegai fight will be showing. So we'll be watching both fights at the same time that day for free. Our money is going on food and drink, Lol.

It has become a business of manipulation and planning which all leads to the next best "star" who brings in the biggest bundle of cash. Boxing is just as much a multifaceted ATM machine for the promoters and networks as it is a pure science. Mayweather antics now are purely for the cash grab and he's a master at it. Those who don't buy it will be on this site anxious to read the outcome. Those that do are not treating it seriously, it's merely entertainment just as any circus or comedy show.

Boxing will continue to be an exception sport with a core fan base and people looking in from the outside who will never get it, just like this writer.
His first assertion is correct and then he goes on to contradict himself with examples of fights that, according to him, are not contentions of top fighters.
Truth is I wouldnt want you trying to explain (or Justify) this sport to anyone if you can't see merit in the careers of the fighters you've mentioned and discredited as part of the "disfunctional" boxing.
Robert Guerrero, Adrien Briner, Tony Demarco, katsedis? Seriously?!
Yes, this fight is lacking merit, but try to formulate an argument with some originality instead of a brief wiki search of boxing history within the last 5 years man.
Plus, who the hell thinks that boxing was devoid of politics, corruption or maneuvering ever?! Or any of the other top 10 professional sports?

The McGregor Mayweather fight is just an exhibition prize fight nothing more. The writer touched on the one belt per weight class argument which i dont get. People complain about the different belts but i think its good the way it is. I mean imagine all the cherry picking that would go on which could possibly be worse than it is now. And companies would do inhouse fights just to keep the belts. Besides i like watching unification fights!!! It's awesome to see your favorite fighter take someone elses belt in their opponent home town

The fight is gonna make a ton of money for boxing and everyone on this forum is going to watch it whether they're hating or not. Stop acting like it's not good for the sport, people have always wanted to see a boxer vs an MMA fighter and now they get to see it. Plus it's also going to bring a ton of revenue to Las Vegas.
