That turned out to be a good fight to watch actually. I was one of the many people slamming the fight and I missed the live broadcast but I saw the replay. And it actually turned out to be a way better fight than I thought.

Hopefully we will get the same with Mayweather-McGregor and Cotto-Kamegai.

i have a problem with this:

That "fight" is not boxing. It's a charade. A circus act.

It's almost like having pacquiao fight a wwe wrestler or a taekwondo fighter in a "boxing fight." it's just like mixing pears and apples like they were the same thing.

So there's no justification to this infamy.

It is not boxing.

Also, scheduling this crap event three weeks before the real boxing event of the year, ggg vs. Canelo, is a clear ****ty move by this disgusting fellow floyd, to directly affect the financial outcome of the real boxing fight, diminish the magnitude and net sales of the event, and all this because the idiot is jealous that he will not be the "star" on a date that should have never been "his" in the 1st place, such as mexican independence day.

There's no justification for this garbage event, period. And those who will buy it instead of ggg-canelo are not boxing fans. They are just posers, pretend-fans of boxing. And i don't think they are mma fans either, because this "event" is just as insulting to their sport as well.

Those who will buy that circus act crap (boxing vs. Mma in a "boxing" match) and will buy ggg vs. Canelo as well, could be considered semi boxing fans.

And of course the ones who will completely ignore the farce in august, not even caring about the "result" which will obviously be a pre-arranged "victory" by the "boxer," and are avid to pay the ppv fee for the real fight ggg-canelo, those are the real boxing fans.

And btw, who is the author of this article i am replying to? I tried to find some info about him on the web and i failed. I just found out that he is the new editor of a well-known boxing publication, he has no wikipedia page yet, and since the publication seems to be british, i assume he is british as well, so i have no idea on whether or not he is being paid to promote that bull-crap "fight" by writing a ridiculous article like the one i am replying to, trying to justify it as not such a damaging thing for boxing.

Article was well written and insightful. True the Mayweather/Mcgregor circus is just that but the author brings out many salient truths concerning the travesties of the boxing "business" today. It has become a business of manipulation and planning which all leads to the next best "star" who brings in the biggest bundle of cash. Boxing is just as much a multifaceted ATM machine for the promoters and networks as it is a pure science. Mayweather antics now are purely for the cash grab and he's a master at it. Those who don't buy it will be on this site anxious to read the outcome. Those that do are not treating it seriously, it's merely entertainment just as any circus or comedy show.

Although I do think some people are exaggerating, about it coming close to or surpassing May-Pac. It would surprise me if it even comes close to May-Canelo 2.2 million.

I agree, let's hope that Mayweather-McGregor doesn't turn out that way as well. Hopefully it will be better than most think it will be. At $100 a buy it needs to be. Because on paper it's a mismatch scam. I understand why they are doing it, money wise it's great, it will make tons of money. Let's just hope the fight turns out better than we expect, like Pacquiao-Horn.
