If Floyd had chosen Thurman, Spence, Lara, Charlo, etc, of course he'd receive universal acclaim for taking on a challenge for his 50-0. Instead, we get the same formula that describes Floyd's last several events: no-hope opponent bore-fests (except May-Pac which was simply a dud). Floyd is astute enough to realize that had he chosen another Berto, boxing fans would have rejected the PPV. So he's going to **** the wallets of delusional MMA fans this one time and then go sip a cold one under a palm tree in the Ba*****.

I just hope he KOs McGregor so the paying fans get something in return. Because the reverse is just not happening.

Like I put in my last posts, we all know those fights would be more competitive, but the general public doesn't want to see any of them. We do, but the vast majority of casual fans/people outside boxing want to see McGregor. Nobody fights for acclaim, especially when you've already been carrying the sport for over 10 years. Plus Floyd got criticized when he was taking on all comers. If he fought Thurman they'd be like "Why not fight Horn, Why not fight Spence" etc. When he was fighting the top guys fight after fight he was getting criticized then, so it makes no difference. Fight Mosley, no credit, shut out Marquez, no credit.

We can be mad or whatever but put yourself in that position. Would you fight an MMA fighter for $150 million or fight a boxing guy who doesn't draw half the interest but is considered a more dangerous fight, for half the money? It's an easy decision on all counts. Let's not act like he's the first guy to do this either. Oscar De La Hoya did the same thing. Don't fight Vernon Forrest, fight Mosley again, don't fight Winky Wright, fight Felix Sturm. Same with Hopkins and other guys.

Floyd's fought like 25 world champs, he doesn't owe boxing anything.

Canelo just fought chavez in his prime and manny fought horn at 38! So gotta put everything in perspective! Im guessing canelo will land in the 70 punch rande like marquez! klitschko is 41 and was coming off an 18 mth layoff vs top heavyweight. Fmw still trains with his active fighters in his gym and is fighting basically a advanced gym rat. Fight is a big joke. Mcgregor can't punch with 10 oz gloves over 6-8 rounds, let alone 12 rounds. Shane mosley jr knocks mcgregor out in 3 rounds.
