The winner should completely ignore Lebedev. Sure he holds the WBA title but everyone knows he lost it to Gussiev. The regular champion will represent the WBA & the winner is the undisputed champion. Lebedev is not only gutless but he is also up there with Willie Magee as ugliest athlete alive. I never talk this negatively about any boxer as most here know but Lebedev is a disgrace! To still be calling him a champion is an embarrassment to the sport.

I don't think he deserves the rematch either as the first fight wasn't even close, but to call him gutless is a stretch. Have you seen his fight with Guillerimo Jones? Dude has definitely guts.

Yeah I did. The guy took a beating from a semi-retired CW in Guillermo Jones & he basically stuck to fighting washed up CWs like Toney & Roy Jones. Talk about a guy doing whatever it takes to keep his title. Only reason he still has a belt is he & his team weaselled their way out of defending both belts a few weeks before the fight against Gassiev. That itself is pretty pathetic & he was handed back his belt after Jones tested positive. The guy got beat twice & got to keep a belt. He talks tough & complains about wanting a rematch but avoids the tournament that would crown an undisputed CW champion. He is gutless & scared to face the best CWs in the world. He should just vacate the belt & have a few more fights in Russia against limited opposition before retiring. It's clearly obvious he doesn't want to fight the best.

I still dont understand how he was allowed to keep his belt? Was it the first time someone did this stunt?

I only know of Peterson vs matthysse which was moved to a catchweight of 143 or 144 even though both guys were career jr. Welters.

But lebedev actually defended at 200 and only stake one title instead of two. How is this allowed?

Lebedev lost against Gassiev but kept his WBA title. Word "champion" doesn`t mean anything anymore.

I'm just having some fun with it like all the Povetkin, GGG & Kovalev fans who call fighters like Wilder, Mayweather & Ward gutless cowards. I don't even like Wilder or Mayweather. Lebedev is holding a belt hostage & should not even have one. Don't worry Russia if I lose to Gassiev I will still have a belt & be considered a champion. I promise to give Roy Jones & Toney a rematch. I will give Enzo Macaranelli a shot too. Maybe I can get Dwight Muhammed Qawi to come out of retirement & give him one more shot as well...
