If Connors training strategy is to have 10-15 unofficial boxing matches....thats pretty much the best possible thing anyone could do as long as he doesnt get cut but for that you must wear headgear and its not like a real match with headgear

Idk about that. I think having "pro" like fights in training camp 1 month before the fight is a bad move. I don't think its necessarily a bad idea for the experience I just think you do that well before now if thats your plan.

With 30ish days til the fight I think you hone in on your strategy. Conor knows how a fight works already. This is just a fight with less options in it than other fights he's been in so strategy would seem more important to me than knowing what a pro boxing match feels like.

But for a guy whos never had a boxing match going up against someone like this, its a desperate situation. At the very least it shows that he really is trying to win. It's the polar opposite of what ****** ass James Toney did going into his UFC fight against Coture. He treated it like a joke and got humiliated. I'm actually shocked that he was able to even land a punch on Malignaggi. I wouldve never thought he could even in sparring

Turned it into total farce , joe cortez has been on floyd's payroll for many years , protecting him in the ring every time he was the official . There are lots of idiots in the USA as well as around the world who believe it's a real fight and will pay to watch it . Cortez is Floyd's lap dog

Why the hell would you want Cortez for this? Any qualified referee could do this and wouldn't demand anywhere near the same salary. Hell, Cortez isn't even a particularly good ref. You'd think this was some kind of publicity stunt, but this fight doesn't need anymore publicity.

He's an awful referee.

I think this might even cause Conor to over train, I heard they are doing a different type sparring aka fight simulation sparring, guys going at least 70 percent which is going hard.

This could backfire on conor, boxing training is a lot different, you dont want to leave it all in the gym, you have to taper down.

Doing 8 round fights with a single partner, simulating a fight, and then at the peak 3 sparring sessions for 12 rounds each.

They are doing a cram session for a bar exam, trying to pack all this knowledge into a short 6 week camp. And going against the best defensive point boxer.

I don't think this is so founded a comment, for one simple reason, McGregor is based in somewhat remote Ireland. He's likely worked with local Irish trainers and fighters considerably, and is reaching overseas as well with these.
