    UFC superstar Conor McGregor is leaving no stone unturned in his preparation for the upcoming boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26 KOs). The Irish fighter will face Mayweather on August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. BoxingScene.com reported on Friday, that former two-division world champion Paulie Malignaggi officially joined the training camp of McGregor as a sparring partner.

          Why the hell would you want Cortez for this? Any qualified referee could do this and wouldn't demand anywhere near the same salary. Hell, Cortez isn't even a particularly good ref. You'd think this was some kind of publicity stunt, but this fight doesn't need anymore publicity.

              If Connors training strategy is to have 10-15 unofficial boxing matches....thats pretty much the best possible thing anyone could do as long as he doesnt get cut but for that you must wear headgear and its not like a real match with headgear

                Doesnt really matter i'm afraid. The referee will have been paid by the money team, to stop Connor from clinching and ragging Floyd about.

                  Basically lol but it's smart imo. Conor's team knows Bayless or Weeks will ref the fight, so bring in the closest thing to those two to figure out what he can do to be competitive in some way.

                  I respect the effort. I expect to see more big names get involved in this circus somehow.

                    I think he has worked as trainer in gyms too. And yeah he blew it as ref at times too. He the one lost controlof jr vs ortiz fight lol
