Ward might not be a big puncher but it was a sharp counter and Kovalev was exhausted at that point. There is nothing to suggest he has a weak chin really.

Rather than a "weak chin" I think the reality is that Kovalev doesnt have the intestinal fortitude that Ward has.

I also think that Kovalev lacked the natural fighters instinct to foul Ward back instead of waiting for the ref.

Maybe not the bad-ass he thinks he is?

Those low blows softened him up for the miracle right hand...then more low blows after that right to end the fight....if anything he has weak nuts.

I wouldn't say he has a weak chin at all, I think he has leaky defense which leaves his chin badly exposed. Boone is a great puncher and that shot Ward landed was picture perfect and right on the button and he still did not fall.

I called it that he would quit, and he did...but yes, you're right about not having the heart Ward has.
