Comments Thread For: Horn: People Keep Making Excuses For Pacquiao, But I Beat Him

I thought Horn clearly won, but regardless of that I hope Horn doesn't get given the Tim Bradley treatment where people drag his name through the mud and send him death threats. Even if you're convinced that the fight was a robbery then it's the judges who are at fault, not him.
I agree that Horn won the fight 7-5, period, same scores as 6 out of 8 independent judges. The problem I see is that too many people ignore ring generalship as a scoring criteria. All they care about is punch counts and ignore every other metric - which is why no matter what, there will always be robbery claims despite, as in this case, one guy clearly imposing his will on another.
Chocolatito didn't lose to a superior fighter, he lost to a guy who was bullying him around the ring and imposing his will.
Manny had to show up and knock the guy out. He had a chance to do so in Round 10. God intervened, Manny backed off, Manny lost. It's that simple; and the rematch will go the exact same F'n way if Manny can't get it up again. Horn's going to bully the hell out of him again.Last edited by Combat Talk Radio; 07-19-2017, 07:56 PM.Comment

This fight reminded me a lot of maidana vs Floyd 1...maidana bullied Floyd all night was rough dirty slightly bigger and had the weight advantage. Maidana threw over 1000 punches and landed about 8 less than Floyd(according to compubox- which for some reason only seems to have credibility when it comes to certain fightets). He gave Floyd 1 hell of a fight due to his power awkwardness and relentless attack. Everyone was surprised including Floyd. The horn fight was almost a mirror image to the maidana fight the difference being Floyd never was able to hurt him or almost have the ref stop the fight at any point where as Manny did with horn. Yet scorecards favored Floyd by a wide margin besides the 114-114. My point is if for some odd ball reason you gave horn the fight based on him roughing up Manny out muscling him all night. Then you must certainly feel Floyd lost to maidana the 1st go round. (He didnt) otherwise you're a hypocriteComment
