He's not wrong about the hyping Dana angle with many pressers, but he is the face of MMA overall cuz fighters come & go + its not like he hosts all the pressers. And I'm of the opinion you WANT someone to be the face of all pressers for HBO, Showtime, Sky or whatever channel who can speak well & incite debate & conversation. No one does that now in boxing.

Boxing pressers are like the weirdest thing ever like 95% of the time. I mean just go watch that BJS vs Monroe presser the other day that was MASSIVELY fun for a boxing presser vs the typical boxing presser you'll watch cuz BJS is a guy who'll actually engage his opponent & is clever about it + gots a real feel for the mental game that most fighters just don't have verbally.

So you need a non-fighter rep to have that job of leading the festivities better & its not the f#cking promoter that's for f#cking sure cuz most of these promoters suck at their job with public stuff (behind the scenes stuff they might be great & probably are great to be where they are + getting talked about). Hire a guy like DiBella to do all the talking. He is the Dana White after all with his no f#cks given leaning most of the time & have him talk at all the PBC events for example. Let Bhop talk & control all the pressers for GBP cuz Oscar is boring as sh^t. Hire a comedian or some Chris Hardwick type guy or something, but pressers SHOULD have faces to them & SHOULD feel more familiar & less awkward then they do.

The thing is a lot of black fighters are from urban areas. They got into boxing to stay out of the real beef. Mma fans love the fake beef arguing then hugging after the fight, I guess casuals would too, but as a person who turned to boxing to avoid beef I see it as a true art form a science. Tough talk doesn't end well in the hood, certainly doesn't end in fisticuffs. So I can see why fighters are all about money because they endure lifetimes of poverty and peril at home and finally find prosperity in the squared circle.

It's fun to hear feigned animosity, unless you've seen what real tough talk leads to. Consequences are different on the other side of the tracks.

I was just watching the Mayweather/Gatti fight, cause he was known as a tough guy that could take a punch. The body shots Floyd was landing were brutal, if may does just that Connor will (sit on the ropes) i.e. quit. But if Connor tries to get rough, that will be cool, but if floyd fights rough, he will be the one accused of fighting dirty. Gatti is a far superior boxer than Connor, but Floyd has gotten even better

I think there are different ways to get attention. You can dog people, you say funny sh^t, you can say compelling sh^t, but you gotta bring something real & most of these boxing pressers just seem awkward & weird cuz the people no one gives a f#ck about hearing talking are talking the most. I don't need to see Bowe vs Donald type sh^t, but at least be interesting. And if you aren't interesting then why are we having a presser with fighters in the first f#cking place. Just send out a media kit & make a nice lil video or something. But quit pushing this sh^t product out into the world that is awful to view 95% of the time & does nothing to make you wanna watch a fight if you didn't already wanna see it.

Thats all I'm really saying. And there are ways you make things more interesting with different formats & with an entertaining personality hosting it.

This reminds me of the BET Awards when Suge Knight talked about artist are welcome to Death Row if they don't want the producer (Puffy) all in the video, dancing and talking. That's how Dana White is always talking over the fighters like he's DJ Clue and in the video like Puffy.....LOL. It's not about you Dana.

I agree pressers are boring asf in boxing, but I also think the personalities are much less wwe like than UFC. Broner is one of the more exciting press conference guys and even he lays eggs often. Mcgregor out here talking big boy ish that would get u hurt coming from a certain background. It is more fan pleasing though and that's bc we want gladiators at all times not understanding that life just isn't like that. I do agree that formats definitely should shift though
