I'll check the podcast out thanks for letting me know. It's not really that surprising to me, I mean, a lot of fans turn a blind eye to doping so the promoters do the same because ultimately they need to make money regardless so it infects the whole sport. I'd like to think at some point USADA is just going to regulate the whole sport like they are doing the UFC but like you stated, it definitely hasn't helped the UFC at all from an entertainment aspect (fighters being pulled from cards at the last minute, not getting the fights you want as a result). So who knows when it will happen, it will be a lot harder to bring into boxing because there are so many different promoters so it might never happen, but it needs to happen sooner or later. It's happening in every other sport most of them anyway.
Until then guys like Heredia/Conte are going to continue to take advantage of it and make lots of money doing so. The current testing is very basic and if you know more than a bit about PED's you will be able to beat them. Can't even really hate on the fighters in that situation, it's basically "Do or Die" unless you're in a position of power to where you can demand the USADA testing protocol (Mayweather).

This guy never tested positive for years either...

Lance Armstrong did every PED under the sun and passed 100's of tests.
. Fighters in Pride didn't have to do any kind of drug testing at all in the first several years there.
