That's precisely what will happen unless Don King has plans for a massive purse bid. Tell Stifferne sure well fight. No wants to televise so we're going to stream it for free on PBC.com and the purse will be $100k. Those are the rankings after Stiverne lost his mandatory defense against Wilder.

Povetkin & Perez fought in an eliminator and Povetkin won, becoming the mandatory.

Fury chose to become WBO mandatory and Glazkov chose to become IBF mandatory.

So Stiverne moved up the rankings as people lost or fought for other titles.

Ortiz was interim WBA world heavyweight champion at the time and ineligible to be ranked by the other organizations.

Stiverne (#2) agreed to fight Povetkin (#1) to become the mandatory. Povetkin cheated (again) and was removed from the rankings.

Which is how Stiverne became the mandatory.

I know how the WBC ranked him, I already know that.

But most of the time their ranking system is wrong and jacked up with fighters at mandatory that are bogus.

Stiverne shouldn't be mandatory, what has he done since losing to Deontay Wilder. Struggle and get dropped by Rossy back in late 2015. I know it's not Stiverne's fault that Povetkin was busted for dope again. The WBC first stated they would have an eliminator fight with Stiverne vs. a to be determined fighter. Then made him mandatory, perhaps because of a threatening lawsuit from King and Stiverne I'm guessing.

My thing is no way should Stiverne be ranked above Ortiz in the first place. Stiverne shouldn't even be ranked that high. Stiverne is not better than Ortiz, Ortiz should be the mandatory. That's my point.

Although I don't believe Wilder has the balls to get in the ring with Ortiz, and Ortiz is just full of bluff and bluster, I would rather live in futile hope that this fight might actually get made.

WBC guy just needs to rub some magic corruption dust on his hands & create a new WBC title, give that better title to Wilder & let Bermane stank ass fight for the lesser title that we won't give a f#ck about & let us see Wilder vs Ortiz cuz thats the more interesting fight.

Stiverne is a decent fighter, but that's as far as it goes. His claim to fame are 2 wins over a shot arrelola.

This mess is mostly the WBCs and don fricken kings fault. If they would have had Stiverne fight a decent replacement when the Povetkin fight fell through, (and he won), maybe there would be SOME interest in Wilder vs Stiverne 2.

Just why is Stiverne the mandatory #1 contender ? This reeks of the old Don King/ Jose Suliaman WBC corruption except this time with Jose's son. The apple does not fall far from the tree apparently.
Stiverne since he lost to Wilder has fought 1 time.That was November 2015 and almost 2 years ago. He was floored by Derric Rossy in the first round and won a unanimous decision but could not knock Rossy out.This is the same Derric Rossy that was dominated and flattened by Carlos Negron recently. I think Wilder should just vacate the WBC title and fight Ortiz if it comes to that.If he beats Ortiz then Joshua is next. The WBC title is really meaningless anyway.
