        Yea I've been hearing the same thing. How long is long term? I'd assume its 2, maybe 3 years. Are you suggesting its longer than that?

        If. Let fighters come over they shouldn't have a problem. And the fact that giys like crawford and Loma and Valdez and Ramirez will fight 3-4 times a yesr helps too
        Yea you don't gotta sell me on his stable. I'm one of the cats dogging Arum yet saying he's got one of, if not, the best stable in the business. You still need opponents for those guys doe & while TR's stable is great its not deep & the way boxing works today non-inhouse promotion is always a struggle cuz rarely do those situations make business sense in particular when fighters have to give away options & specifically for Arum the guy you are signing away options to is almost notorious for contract issues (Chavez Jr, Floyd, Gamboa-although with his history that mighta been his fault who knows, Mikey, hell even Jessie Vargas is b^tching about Arum now) & idk all the particulars with the Postol thing, but I know Top Rank gots him sitting for the past year cuz they got an option with him yet did nothing with him so he's lost a year of his career.

        So basically I think Arum gots his work cut out for him with how the business & specifically he's worked in the past.

        But we will see how it goes as you say. Too many variables involved to be in anything but wait & see mode now (kinda like when PBC came into play, although at that time lotsa cats were throwing PBC in the fire before they even had a show).

          You don't really get much notoriety from being the second guy on the moon. Others learned from Haymon's mistakes. That said, I think what Bob said here validates Haymon's idea that the sport benefits from being on channels other than HBO.

            Ive read from espn insiders this is not a time buy. It is going to be more of a team efgort between arum and espn. That is why i believe it has a good chance to work. And i hopd it does

              Well all the best to bob...

              Getting ESPN in my view is the better move over Al's all over the place approach.

              I think ESPN will do a much better job of the coverage, but I gotta say that Horn Pac fight was horrible from a commentating point of view, but casuals won't know that S A Smith DKSAB. One of PBC's problems is that the show was so cheesy and cheap looking.

              =====

              Ultimately its going to come down to match ups, and I don't see this doing better than the crappy PBC product.

              Now if Bob and Al worked together on a platform like ESPN then we could have something...

                You add that there's also the real possibility that UFC heads to HBO (The Fox/FS1 deal is wrapping up, the UFC is looking for a raise, and HBO is in position to better monetize things).

                Gonna be interesting to see how stuff shakes out
                The type of money the UFC is looking for seems to be too rich for HBO imo. I read that Ari is looking for $280 (at worst; many expect this to be the floor) and $450 million annually (Fox currently pays $115 million annually).

                Seems very expensive for HBO

                  Yea but all fighters complain about their promoters. We saw Tank's issues with floyd. Mickey Bey's with Floyd. Dulorme isn't happy with him Neno etc. I think that is just in a fighter's nature. Plus these top rank cards aren't all in house. indongo is with Hearn. Marriaga and Horn have co promoters. Gvozdyk opponent isn't with Top Rank either. We need to see more than a few cards first to judge by I read somewhere it's like a 5 year deal
