This is my thought as well. TR is one of the better stables in boxing, but idk that they can maintain the amount of dates + put on quality fights. And I mean respect to what they are doing, BUT are they even realllllly putting on quality fights now one could argue? Who expected the Manny vs Horn fight to be as competitive as it is? And I love Indongo & he's the #2 guy in the division, but the majority of people feel thats a whatever fight & the bookmakers got Crawford as a -1500ish favorite to win. And I'm pretty sure no one thinks Loma's next fight is going to be competitive. Is that gonna have people excited? Is that gonna keep their ratings up? And if thats what we are seeing now what are we seeing in 6, 9 or 12 months down the line?

This deal lives or dies on TR's ability to work with other promoters or its gonna be short lived or not exceed the duration of the initial agreement.

And what was terrible about the three matchups? Browne-Monaghan was a fight between prospects on the way up (with Browne simply being better), Szpilka-Kownacki was a step-up fight for a NY heavyweight prospect against a guy who'd just had a good fight with the heavyweight champion, and Figueroa-Guerrero was a matchup between a rugged welterweight gatekeeper against an undefeated lightweight titlist coming back again two years off.

No idea what the bookees said about the fight, but doubt that any of the matchups were worse than 5:1 on the night of the fight.
Yea that Fox card had a bunch of competitive-ish fights (for boxing). I think the Marcos Browne fight was the widest matchup with him being a -800ish favorite. And the main event had Figueroa around a -250ish favorite iirc. Might sound not so close to some, but HBO regularly has -2000, -5000 favored main event fights (although in fairness their fights this weekend were competitive at sports books too).

They need to get their **** together and fast.
I still contend HBO Boxing isn't long for this world or at very least long for this world as we've known it for the last several decades. GBP might be looking for a new network themselves within the next 2-5yrs.

Like they say with cheating you are only as faithful as your options. So when Arum's girlfriend starting giving too much attention to other suitors he had to go looking for a sidechick...who's now his new girlfriend lol.

Haymon had a good idea but it was poorly executed. Too many different networks, different slot times, different days of the week, etc... He couldn't catch traction as there was no consistency.

They play fight commercials during all their shows on fs1 and fs2! They were even promoting floyd vs conor and broner vs mikey last night on main fox! Props to them for giving boxing such a huge platform!
thry are promoting floyd vs Conor because of their UFC contract. Get real.

Of course they like pbc. Pbc is still buying time on their network.

Propel say Spike is still interested but they haven't bought anything since saying that lol

This wasn't Arum ditching hbo, this was hbo ditching Arum! They have refused many, many fights Arum wanted over the past few years. Why do you think fights like Crawford-Postol and Pac-Vargas were ppv? It was because hbo refused to pay for them! Hbo said they would pay a few million for a few fights a year. That's it. That's why g-Lemieux was ppv too. Hbo dumped Top Rank. So Arum goes to ESPN, and praises it, though when someone else did the same thing, years earlier, Arum sued and said it wasn't fair. Literally. It got tossed out, tr got tossed off hbo and now Arum, boxingscene, espn, and the other paid tools act like this is Arum trying to bring boxing back to the fans. Its not. He claimed it was illegal before hbo gave him the boot. How much is espn going to pay for Crawford and Lomachenko to fight top guys? Australia paid for Manny, who's going to pay for Craw and Loma??? Omaha? lmao. This is the beginning of the end for Top Rank. Arum is old enough he will probably be dead before the sh^t hits the fan, but the days of top rank being a major promoter in boxing is over.

i read a lot of fighters are looking to move to TR like Bryant jennings did because of this deal. Supposedly it's a long term deal. We shall see. If. Let fighters come over they shouldn't have a problem. And the fact that giys like crawford and Loma and Valdez and Ramirez will fight 3-4 times a yesr helps too

Arum/Oscar wouldn't have had the option to go to ESPN, were it not for Haymon putting his neck out to show that big fights, in featured positions, on main-stage ESPN, in primetime, could work.

Haymon proved the market, so that the second movers felt confident enough to take the chance (Haymon's likely getting paid well in advance of any other boxing outfit).

Bryant Jennings is one fighter, who's moving to Top Rank from Gary Shaw (who couldn't deliver him any fights); to spin one signing into "a lot of fighters" is laughable (made even more silly by the fact that Jessie Vargas is in dispute with Top Rank right now).

Beyond that, Valdez doesn't have access to the bodies to fight 3 times a year in anything more than mismatches, with Crawford (PBC has all of the quality fighters at 147, and the most marketable at 140) and Ramirez (PBC and Schaefer's tournament tournament have the WBC/IBF/WBA champions and basically the next 10 top challengers tied up).

Lomachenko has options, but that's if he wants to take them (Davis isn't available, but Berchelt might end up getting the steparound too).

Daniel jacobs vs andy lee, in brooklyn, is a matchup that can reasonably be made (could also end up as one of the fox shows, if not on showtime).

What can golden boy offer that'd be better than that.
catch up man! Bernard hopkins confirmed on radio 1 week ago that danny is fighting on canelos undercard! Its on youtube the breakfast club interview
