pbc has consolidated their content offerings down to showtime/cbs, the quarterly shows on bouncetv, and fox/fs1 (who seem beyond happy with the content; there's a sports business journal article up, talking about how spiketv is still interested on a fight-by-fight basis and how nbc may be interested in talking about a package later, but fox is still in things heavy right now).

Fox/fs1 seem to be the frontrunner for the coming pbc package (rd 1 deals are up at the end on 2017), so a package is likely being discussed going forward.

Guessed at the details likely being talked about (for all of the pbc fights to go to one broadcaster, a deal featuring 40 dates a year made sense to me)

exactly! Thanks for that great comment! Its obvious fox/fox sports really like pbc! They promote their fights more than any other channel ever did! They play fight commercials during all their shows on fs1 and fs2! They were even promoting floyd vs conor and broner vs mikey last night on main fox! Props to them for giving boxing such a huge platform!

who linares? Isnt he fighting in england? It might only be on boxnation over there maybe! But haymon let chavez and amir go over there and fight canelo! Also hopkins said jacobs is fighting on canelo vs ggg undercard! So they are doing business together and linares vs mikey makes sense

Espinoza isn't really messing with Oscar, and I doubt that Espinoza is going to let Oscar plug **** on his airways after the Canelo stunt.

Is Oscar (or whomever is running the show) a big enough man to let Linares fight on Showtime, with Ringstar Sports running the show (Schaefer seems to be Mikey's preferred partner for his fights out west)?

He didn't care about limiting boxing's audience until the premium networks stopped giving him veins to leech off of.

ESPN is his alternative to HBO and Sho squeezing him out of their plans. How he adjusts his business model to the different factors will determine if Top Rank goes the way of DKP.

i would agree but danny jacobs fighting on canelos undercard makes me think their might have been a agreement on future matchups! Otherwise it doesnt make any sense for jacobs to fight on canelos undercard does it? This is probably the first haymon fighter to fight on a gb undercard without it being a mandatory or something

Not if the plan is to simply have Alvarez/Golden Boy carry whatever boxing budget still around.

Canelo, Cotto-Lemieux, JoJo Diaz Jr (against someone like Oscar Valdez), and prospects ready for BAD (can also feature the lighter guys) would be more than enough to keep folks hanging on for boxing, they'd think (could basically self-finance the package off of just HBO's share on the Canelo PPVs).

You add that there's also the real possibility that UFC heads to HBO (The Fox/FS1 deal is wrapping up, the UFC is looking for a raise, and HBO is in position to better monetize things).

Gonna be interesting to see how stuff shakes out

Simply assuming that Daniel Jacobs is going to fight on the undercard, without any announcement or even a fighter in Golden Boy's fold for him to target (Lemieux is likely being set up for Cotto), takes a good amount of faith.

Daniel Jacobs vs Andy Lee, in Brooklyn, is a matchup that can reasonably be made (could also end up as one of the Fox shows, if not on Showtime).

What can Golden Boy offer that'd be better than that.
