BoxRec runs a very ELO style rating system based on the ratings of each of the fighters going into the fight, and the official scorecards.

It's scoring system is objective in nature but it's objectivity is ultimately limited because it's based on the subjective assessment of the judges. Plus this leaves out reasonable subjective assessment that you see in other p4p lists about about how good the fighter actually looked in the fight.

And while your BoxRec rating can be drop due to inactivity, your rating doesn't just lower as a result of getting older or becoming more involved in politics or looking more gun shy etc. So Manny Pacquiao's rating remained extremely high going into the Horn fight, even though most people could see that he was declining.

In fact Manny Pacquiao was BoxRec P4P #2 before the fight, so beating him gave Horn a ton of points. And because Horn was rated so low on BoxRec before the fight, Manny Pacquiao's rating took a big hit after the L.

It's not a surprise really, and shows you a little bit about why BoxRec's rating system is far from perfect.

Sounds fair to me, he deserves it he beat Pacquiao in devastating fashion, he out did Mayweather.

He deserves it the saying guys like Jeff Fenech said in order to be a legend you must beat a legend.
