The problems between Beterbiev and his promoter began when Al Haymon became Beterbiev's manager.
Haymon immediately upped Beterbiev's guarantee for fights. This is what caused the friction between Yvon Michel and Beterbiev. Although Beterbiev is good he's still not a draw that brings in real money. That means his promoter has to offer Beterbiev's opponents less for fights because he has to pay Beterbiev more now. This situation also creates more risk for the promoter. If his fighter has a guarantee that's higher than the amount he realistically can bring in, that's a problem for the promoter.

Not taking sides in this but it gives you an idea why they are at loggerheads with each other.

Simply put, Beterbiev wants more money than he's worth at this point in his career. The lowball offer to Barrera was probably out of necessity because Beterbiev is asking for more now than he has in the past. Let's be realistic, he's beaten NOBODY at this point and has never headlined a card.

Yvon Michel is probably thinking that if the guy fights I lose money, if he doesn't I don't LOL. It's kinda ****ed. Yvon Michel should cut Beterbiev loose if he can;t meet his guarantee for fights. It's not fair keeping him on the shelf. Get him in the ring or let him go.

He didnt agree at all. Im pretty sure kovalev wanted to fight him bro lol why else would he fight Ward twice, who's a way better fighter. Adonis kept ducking kov
