You should root for whoever you want to root for, but don't kid yourself, Floyd losing is disastrous for boxing. Millions of casual sports fans who normally watch very little fighting will be tuning in. In the minds of many of them, this fight will prove if boxing or UFC is superior. That's obviously illogical and makes no sense, but that's how people think. If Conor waltez into boxing and beats the #1 boxer in his pro debut, it makes boxing look like an absolute joke compared to MMA.




What other welterweight would have gone undefeated against De La Hoya, Hatton, Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto, Guerrero, Canelo, Maidana (twice) and Pacquiao in the 8 year span that he did?

it would mean he had amazing talent to crossover the sports. it wouldnt mean that boxing is somehow 'exposed' as a joke, its a sport that consists of top athletes just as every other sport. I couldnt care less if mayweather loses,it would make mcgregor a legend rather than destroy boxing. And the gloating from some UFC fans would be annoying, but the tears from mayweather fans would be something to behold lol

Floyd is arguably top 10 top 20 of all time he the best we have seen in years, if he loses to a mma fighter this will be awful for Boxing. Casual wil go on for years about Mma as the superior sport.

Put him with gregor in a octagon he will choke joshua to death.

Any boxer when you put it in octagon will not survived a round. Same thing would happen to a mma fighter when put infront of a boxer.

well, you can't really dispute that. boxing is the sport of punching each other, MMA is the sport of fighting each other. doesn't mean one is any more entertaining that the other, but calling boxing "half a fight" is being verrrry generous. it's more like 10% of a fight.
