What's with the notion that we should root for Floyd just because he's a boxer?

So everyone knows that oh, this sport is easy? No it's not easy now **** off back to UFC where you belong with your black eyes and this is a message to any UFC guy in the future.

Mayweather losing would be the total opposite effect. Oh Conor just walsted in and beat the guy that no one else could? 20 years and no one could beat him and Conor walks in with no experience at any level and does?
So maybe I can do it it's that much of a joke of a sport. Maybe we all should just come over and beat these jokes who "aren't real fighters" in their "easy sport"

Yep and Floyd supposed to be " TBE"

People will look at boxing as a joke.

I've said it before Floyd needs to knock out Connor period. Anyhing less and boxing is a joke! Even if Floyd schoools him for 12 rounds Connor can still say he lasted 12 rounds and Floyd couldn't knock him out. Boxing only wins with a ko.

Conor McGregor has no respect for our sport. Claims it isn't fighting. Claims it's "easy"

If he wins this fight he will be laughing at all of us and you think that's just a none issue.
It'd be nice if a street fighter told McGregor that he isn't an actual fighter because his sport has regulations. Of course I don't agree with any of that ******ity but UFC fans run with the same **** he's spewing. Oddly enough we discussed this in the past I remember

At the very least, this got to Mayweather and I hope he puts a beating on McGregor.

This guy keeps going around clowning boxing. Calling it easy work and half a fight. He is ****ting on people like Duran, Ali, Louis, Robinson, Hagler.

I don't like it one bit. He needs to be dealt with. it's just sad that we have to rely on a 41 year old Mayweather with brittle hands. If he gets.old overnight we are ****ed.

You should root for whoever you want to root for, but don't kid yourself, Floyd losing is disastrous for boxing. Millions of casual sports fans who normally watch very little fighting will be tuning in. In the minds of many of them, this fight will prove if boxing or UFC is superior. That's obviously illogical and makes no sense, but that's how people think. If Conor waltez into boxing and beats the #1 boxer in his pro debut, it makes boxing look like an absolute joke compared to MMA.

avoided prime HOF champs for his whole career
What other welterweight would have gone undefeated against De La Hoya, Hatton, Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto, Guerrero, Canelo, Maidana (twice) and Pacquiao in the 8 year span that he did?

Anything is possible though that's why I just wanted this fight to go away and never happen. Floyd could possibly turn old overnight. the possibility is there.

Literally makes our sport a laughing stock and a joke.
I just don't get how people aren't able to see this point. It would keep noxing exactly where it is if Floyd won.

If he lost? All context of him being old and past his prime for the past 10 years goes right out the window. It wouldn't matter. He would get slandered for the **** of it.

Not only that? It's a consistent argument i've heard for years. I've heard Colin Cowherd say the same thing that if Floyd lost then not only is his career a complete wash, but Boxing is as well. It's horrible.

Conor is making it seem like practicing one sport and one sport only isn't real fighting because MMA has multiple disciplines. It doesn't take much skill to beat someone if you can lay on them and smother them with a Chinese Tickling Colon Slap. It takes precise technique and ability to get your mind and body to the point where you can get your skills refined enough to be great like Floyd. Him winning is absolutely necessary.

Whether you like Floyd or not.

Regardless of whether you like/are rooting for Floyd, there's no doubt that if (one of the biggest if's ever!) he loses it would be terrible for the sport of boxing.

The boy deserves to be humiliated, it would be fantastic if McGregor knocked him out.
You're simply a sore loser, you can root for who you want, just like every single opponent that has come along would do this or do that...and? They can't ever do ****.

Was it Manny he beat that made you hate him? DLH? Who?
