What's with the notion that we should root for Floyd just because he's a boxer?

This is silly. Floyd losing will not be bad for boxing, if anything it will be good. Floyd has stunk the joint out for years, avoided prime HOF champs for his whole career (never faced a prime atg), is a vapid moron who's making a cynical money grab in this mismatch.

The boy deserves to be humiliated, it would be fantastic if McGregor knocked him out.

I agree I don't see anything bad about one of the best fighters of all time losing to a guy who has never boxed in his life. Something endless top boxers couldn't do.

That only makes our sport look legitimate.

Conor would then leave our sport talking about how easy boxing is as a sport.

The best boxer of his era losing to an MMA fighter would be a disaster for boxing. It can't be seen any other way.

Well Floyd is 40 with 2 years out, it's not like he's 28 and active.
