Why does Mayweather have trouble against the jab?

It seems Mayweather's one weakness is against blocking jabs. Why is that do you think? De La Hoya was doing well with against him with the jab but if I recall he stopped using it later on.

It's the hardest punch to stop and you can throw a variety of different ways. You can't even see a good jab.

DLH didn't stop throwing it, it was getting countered and caught. Big time myth.

It's because slipping jabs is an art form in which unfortunately, many fighters have never mastered.

The jab is the most basic punch there is but when excecuted well its also the most effective. Its fast and hard to see coming.

Fighters with an excellent jab can get pretty far on that alone.

You can throw the jab in so many different variations, it's not the most important punch for no reason.
