No, Benn had very good variety of shots. You never knew what was coming.

I honestly don't think Calzaghe would last long, if Benn picked the right times to unleash the right shots. Calzaghe is perfect for Benn - very square-on, no lateral movement, not much of a guard. Benn's lateral movement causes Calzaghe fits, causing Benn to find him with the powerful counters.

i'm sorry. perhaps i am underating benn but he was left-hook happy and not much of a combination puncher when a guy got off first against him or frustrated him.

i think benn would be perfect for calzaghe. he would be able to spin him at will, duck benn's telegraphed punches, and he would hit him with fast punches from ALL angles at will. calzaghe simply has a wonderful feel for the game and is a master of movement and angles. he would totally befuddle benn.

A Young Benn Was Even Faster Than Calzaghe, Guy Looked Lightning. But An Old Benn Would Be Taken Apart By Jc, We Saw Both Benn And Calzaghe On Showtime Over Here And For Me Seeing Calzaghe Against Brewer, Mitchell And Lacy I Think He Takes Benn.

Im Still Having Nightmares About Seeing Benns Rematch With Eubanks, The Way They Were Doing Bodybuilding Poses And More Holding Than Hitting It Was Awful. Then Benn Had That Stinkfest With ****ing Giminez, That Was The Stinkfest Of All Stinkfests. The Benn That Fought Mcclellan Had The Heart Of A Lion But Was Not Near As Sharp As The Early Benn, Jc Takes Him.

I Dont Know About That Azteca, Benn Was A Fierce Combo-puncher Until Later In His Career When He Threw One At A Time More.

Benn put his punches together very, very, very well. You obviously haven't seen much of him!

Spin him at will? Duck his telegraphed punches? Are you CRAZY?? This is Nigel Benn we're talking about here, not Tucker ****ing Pudwill! Benn's shots were very hard to read when he used pre-thought, earlier in his career he threw shots at will more because he had the ripping speed to land them and variety of shots to keep them guessing.

Okay, don't even bother ****ing mentioning the fine performance against Wharton then yeah go on just ignore the Wharton fight (where Benn just happened to show an absolutely lovely left jab, some beautiful feinting, some nice defensive moves and some excellent timing).

i don't appreciate you knocking my knowledge on benn's career! i am not from great britian, but i have seen many nigel benn bouts. i was actually ringside when he knocked out the severly weight-drained iran barkley.

                i have seen benn vs.
                barkley x2
                eubank x2
                wharton
                malinga x2

that is 7 fights, hardly something to shake your head about. don't you think?

I seem to recall he was using alot of swinging punches against McCleanan.

Well then, you've not seen Benn anywhere near his best. He was at his worst against Eubank and Malinga, and Barkley was a "do-or-die, hell-for-leather fight".
