Are u telling me that Mc gregor is more known in the whole world than Pacman??? ur delusional if u think that, even my mothers knows Pacquiao, in a matter of fact my 8 yrs old knows Pacman... I really think this wont break even of Pac-May event.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Pacquiao has a rabid Filipino fanbase, matched in passion by McGregor's Irish fanbase. Pacquiao may be known more in Mexico, but he only rivals McGregor in the US, and McGregor ****s on him in the UK/Europe/Russia/Brazil/etc.

Your mother and your 8 year old know Pacquiao because they are, I'm assuming boxing fans. The combat sports were is a lot bigger than just boxing.

It's tough comparing McGregor and Pacquiao because it's like comparing a new band that is the hottest thing on the planet vs another band who been around for a while and are not selling as many albums as they once did.

There is no doubt McGregor is a bigger draw than Pacquiao at the moment and has been since 2015. Pacquiao has a much longer history of fame and still was on the biggest PPV of all time(This could be broken on 8/26).

I think the x factor in something like this is that McGregor is at his peak popularity right now whereas Pacquiao was doing **** numbers before his fight with floyd. He was averaging under 500k in his 2 previous fights before the Mayweather fight that did 4.4 million buys. McGregor is averaging 1.475 million buys in his 2 previous fights.

              Think about this:

Floyd Manny grew over the course of 5 years. This fight is this big after 5 months and is getting bigger. It feels a lot bigger.

Floyd Manny was weird because the actual fight promotion was next to nothing. Floyd Manny was obviously going to be big but it didn't feel like a 4.4 million event especially at $100. Also the baltimore riots where going on during fight week so it was a weird time for the news cycle.

You're right the promotion for this is massive. One thing about this fight.... They are making it at the best possible time. I can give them that. If this fight were taking play May 2018 it might lose some steam. They played this perfect so far because once Conor beat Eddie Alvarez last Nov for the ufc 155 belt the talk for this started to get real serious and it's been building steadily since thanks to ESPN. The promotion and timing is almost too perfect. You rarely see something like this in combat sports.

The fight will be a success. I'm happy that floyd can finally pay the IRS.

They won't be getting my $90. Good luck with the freak show of course.
