    What IF McGregor wins?

Now, I don't believe it will happen. Maybe there is a 0.1% but in a fight between two athletes, both with fists, anything could happen and we've seen it happen. So, if that 0.1% chance comes off...then what? As boxing fans, do we make excuses?

Floyd was old? 2 years retired? Mcgregor was too big?

Or do we take the loss on the chin and give McG his props? Because let me tell you, I would give him 100% credit. Mayweather isn't a normal 40 year old and he isnt a 40 year old fighter. In 21 years he has had 49 fights, only a handful of them have been that physical and not a single one of them has been a war. His body is fresh, it's not broken up like so many fighters through history.

Imo, McG would not be beating an old fighter and certainly not an old man. I believe he beats a slightly passed prime Mayweather and that would be HUGE. It probably makes McG one of the most marketable athletes on the planet. He could overtake AJs earning potential.

And...we'd all have egg on our face.

It will make boxing look very bad and the MMA casuals will never shut up about it. Thats why floyd needs to win and probably knock conor out in the process.

Yeah. Even if May wins and it goes to a long, boring points victory, it would make boxing look like a ***** sport. Floyd has to KO a novice.

Arum will have heart failure before trying to get him a fight with Jeff Horn in australia. The dollar signs would be rolling in his eyes so fast that he would eat mannys new contract and say good luck in retirement Mr Senator.

Props for taking up the Boxing vs. MMA side of this. In all honesty, I think there is a significant group of boxing fans here that want Mayweather to lose.

He has nothing to win by this but money, and everything to lose. McGregor has everything to win and nothing to lose. If Mayweather loses, it will easily trump Tyson/Douglas for the biggest upset in all of sports history, and boxing as we know it will never be the same. If Floyd lets us down, it will be a catastrophe, and we may have to attend boxing matches with paper bags over our heads.
