    Let's wait and see.
I'm not holding my breath.. last time he had a big announcement it ended up being a charity event.

If the alternative is Stiverne then I doubt anyone will be complaining if it was Haye, Whyte, Klitschko or a few others.

Wilder has always fought low quality opposition, no shame in calling him out on it.

Four pages isn't bad for a total non-entity.

I would eat my hat if that were really the case (proverbially), doesn't really make sense for Ortiz to challenge for the WBC when he can wait out and challenge for the WBA/IBF for a lot more money.

Only way that happens is if Ortiz really doesn't like Wilder. Else it's just a fight that makes sense for Wilder but doesn't at all for Ortiz.

But as to Bermane talking who knows how legit he is or isn't. If I'm trying to get max step aside money I might say any number you won't reach knowing that there is some chance you will increase your offer + guarantee me shot within x months on top of it or whatever else he's trying to get. Just cuz someone says something doesn't mean its true in regards to fight talks.
Exactly right. Stiverne has leverage, if he has half a brain he is going to use that to extract every last dollar out of the step-aside fee.

People need to stop taking what fighters say, as gospel. It ain't. It's a business, fighters will say anything.

That would get a lot of people to shut up so probably a good choice if it ends up being true.

Personally I think Ortiz is one of the most overrated HWs around, but I know I'm in the minority with that stance.

I'm with you in that minority. I've been saying for ages that Oriz is old, slow, overrated power and only throws 2 punches.

But it would be a huge step up considering who Wilder has faced.
