OR I could go to a bar spend less than that and get a bunch of food and drinks with friends. Enjoy the spectacle but pay for a fun evening with friends which I would do even without the fight.

Is the bar going to be carrying the fight though? No idea where you're from, but the general PPV fights in my area are regular hosted by two bars and a couple strip clubs on mute (Fathom Events carried the fights in one theater here, and Mayweather-Pacquiao was such a big event that a handful of extra venues chose to stage as closed circuit sites).

If the option is truly to either see the fight, or head to a bar and not see the fight, even folks like you will quietly try and find a place to see the fight (or end up at the non-viewing bar, following the rbr on this site or some other site, and not really even enjoying your time with your friends until the fight card is over).

$20 plus the cost of drinks, food, and likely a club/bar after the fights are over, with friends, is a great way to spend a night out (depending on how things end up going, and what the after-hours ends up looking like, you're looking at a $150-$250 night).

If the bar wasn't airing the fight, my circle would be at someone's house, everyone will kick in on the PPV, food and drinks, and we'd head out to whatever club after the fights were over (folks show up ready for the night out, fights are basically done by 10:30pm, and we'd be in the club before midnight).

At $100 a real boxing fan wouldn't pay for this garbage fight.

This fights success or failure has absolutely nothing to do with boxing fans or MMA fans. Idk why some of you guys are so dense about this stuff.

The broader the reach of a fight the more buys it will have. Most fights ONLY reach hardcore boxing fans. Some fights reach to casual boxing fans. Some reach further to sports fans. And some fights reach all the way out to people who never watch boxing except when its some huge name in an event fight. Thats this fight.

Obviously each of those pools of people get bigger. And each of those pools of people have a certain % of buy rate. Boxing fans, hardcore & casual, will probably be 15%-20% of the people who watch this fight. The other 80% (4M+) will be sports fans or people who never watch boxing. You guys who don't think this fight doesn't do insane numbers don't grasp the interest beyond boxing & MMA that this fight has.

canelo fight was only his 2nd ppv and it was just as horrible as the first if not worse! He is a scammer in my opinion! He acts like he likes boxing then goes to camp for a few weeks and uses the mexican loyalty of fans to cash in! His daddy is also a part of this scam! He goes out there and lies and say really delusional things about his son! The mexicans are very loyal so they keep supporting! Even guys like victor ortiz still have thousands of fans believe it or not!

Yeah, Mexican fans are probably the most loyal boxing fans on the planet and I don't know that they would even want Jr back.

As far as Sr goes he was the real deal and as far as him speaking up for Jr, that Is understandable. That Is what most fathers would do, even If he didn't truly believe In him.

Watching a PPV event, in your house and by yourself, in a manner no different than folks watch ****, is a pretty sad way to enjoy a boxing spectacle. Just saying.
