Why haven't Ward and Stevenson called each other out yet?

Stevenson? KO'd Dawson after Ward. Big deal

Bute? What, he beat Glen Johnson at the time? Bute wanted to wait on the sidelines while everyone went through the gauntlet only to fight the winner. Doesn't work like that.

I'm glad you brought up Stevenson and Bute. They have/had a lot in common...

Regarding Ward fighting outside of Oakland, where did him and Froch fight?

I remember how the UK judges robbed Dirrel against Froch. Damn shame.
What they have in common is that they where both the best available opponent at the time and they both wanted a fight to happen in their own home.

It's the least logical fight. Stevenson is a CBS corporation fighter, Ward is an HBO fighter. HBO will block the fight the same way they always blocked Stevenson-Kovalev.

        Doesn't work like that.

You don't beat cans on the side while the top guys are putting themselves through the gauntlet only to not only fight the winner but dictate the fight in your hometown. Maybe in BattlingNelson's world, but not the real world.

Even Joe Smith Jr says he doesn't know why Stevenson didn't want to fight. But Ward is just suppose to fight this guy without Stevenson taking any real tests himself?

Let's not kid ourselves, Stevenson is a legit threat to Ward. But he should also put himself through the gauntlet.

I'm pretty sure Ward's contract with HBO is up, hence why he may sign on with Top Rank.

That said, let's face it: Ward isn't taking the fight and he's basically said this. Not worth it to him, not worth maximizing it by going to Canada either. So he'll probably go the heavyweight route. Would love to see it, or Stevenson-Kovalev but I'm not holding my breath.

well unless he signs with haymon, the fight isn't going to happen. not because haymon would block it if ward signs elsewhere, but because whoever ward signs with would block it.

So you wanted the lineal LHW champ to go down to 168 to fight Ward, like Dawson already did?

Are you saying that Ward is ducking Stevenson?

                    Let's look at something:

                    Ring Top 10 @ 175 2015:

                    1. Sergey Kovalev
                    2. Adonis Stevenson
                    3. Bernard Hopkins
                    4. Jean Pascal
                    5. Eleider Alvarez
                    6. Juergen Braehmer
                    7. Isaac Chilemba
                    8. Andrzej Fonfara
                    9. Artur Beterbiev
                    10. Vyacheslav Shabranskyy

                    2016

                    Andre Ward
                    Sergey Kovalev
                    Adonis Stevenson
                    Eleider Alvarez
                    Artur Beterbiev
                    Joe Smith Jr
                    Nathan Cleverly
                    Oleksandr Gvozdyk
                    Sullivan Barrera
                    Vyacheslav Shabranskyy

What does this mean? Since 2015, Stevenson has had 1 top 10 win. Let that marinate.
