So nothing is sure yet. Don't celebrate Manny going broke yet...
Not in his pockets or anything, but my guess is that what was disclosed to Nevada for the ODLH/Hatton/Cotto fights (typically a fraction of the actual payday, for foreign fighters especially) was all that Top Rank withheld taxes for from Manny, with Pacquiao never actually paying anything else.
Pacquiao's only hope is that Duterte, "the man of the people", agrees to let the most popular man in the country openly avoid paying a burden that the rest of the people have to deal with.

that guy said this..... "If his advisors had done a better job he would have already paid for his Pacman fight debt from his profit from it rather than needing the McGregor fight cash to clear it!"
GrandmasterWang did not even read the article, otherwise he would know that the debt is from 2006, NOT the Pacquiao money..... and how come you never picked up on that either?
seriously, Mayweather made 250mil+ from Pacquiao..... how on earth would 1.6mil cover the tax? that guy should have known better, but he didn't
so, I guess GrandmasterWang also missed this part.....
The government, meanwhile, argues that Mayweather has the ability to pay his taxes in full or part. “The agency said that Mayweather had various options available … including by selling property, withdrawing cash from other accounts or taking out a loan,” the Law360 report said.
there is a whole lot of silliness happening in this thread
Mayweather seems to do that to people LMAO
Mayweather has requested an extension for his 2015 taxes...aka the Pacman fight. The total he owes for that year is not revealed but would be massive.
You should read the article before you embarrass yourself further.
The 1.6 million owed is a separate matter from the 2006 year if you had actually read the article......
I should have specified I was referring to Trump's en****** not himself when I said Trump had gone bankrupt. It was implied as I thought many knew about his history with bankruptcy but I should have been clearer for the nsb board.
That was in response so someone saying something about articles about Trump going bankrupt now which I have not seen.
I work as an accountant and wealth advisor so am very familiar with taxes and wealth generation which is why it is a shame Mayweather doesn't have better advice.
Bankruptcy of course doesn't mean the same thing as being broke but it is a last resort for a failing business or personal who is unable to pay their debts on time which is why the most successful businessmen have never gone bankrupt. (ie... Bill Gates, Zuckerberg)
I should specify that while I am a tax expert by trade I am not based in the USA so while the principles are the same for worldwide taxation I am not claiming to be an expert on the USA taxation system.

That was in response to a poster saying he was always reading articles about Trump possibly going bankrupt and me saying I hadn't seen any.
Trump tanking business' doesn't really have anything to do with Floyd i was just querying the poster who seemed to imply that Trump had never had anything to do with bankruptcy.
Sidetrack here, but Trump is a fascinating case and I love this quote regarding him.
" If you owe a bank $100 thousand they have you by the balls"
" If you owe a bank $100 million you have them by the balls"
