    No...

He will be a borderline, could-have-been, outside looking in, candidate like Judah, bute, Felix strum etc

His best chance is if lemuiex and Jacobs go on to dominant for a few years

In my opinion, yes. He is 35 years old. He has made a bunch of successful world title defenses. The 2nd most middleweight title defenses in history and all but one were won by KO. A loss to Canelo doesn't make all that disappear. Did Hopkins become less worthy of the hall when he lost to Taylor? How about Leonard when he lost to Norris and was KOed by Camacho? Almost all boxers who fight to an old age eventually get beat by a good younger boxer they would have defeated a few years earlier.

Exactly. He hasn't done anything. I don't want to hear about some bogus "title defenses" either.

fairly certain the first three posters in the thread are the same guy talking to himself.

If he knocks canelo out. Would he be in? If not. Does that mean canelo is out also? Being stopped by a non hall of famer and all.

GGG is not even on the same level of the guys you've mentioned lol though you are right about those legends' losses, it's a bad comparison at this point yet.

If GGG loses and retires after, the majority of the world would definitely have no problem with him not going to the HOF, than him going to the HOF.

He'd be pretty comparable to many of the people who have been sidelined for years not getting voted on to make it into the hall. At least imo, he would be far from a shoo-in w/o this win. Whether I would personally advocate for him depends on who else becomes eligible the same year as he does and how the fight goes.

Now whether the people who actually get a vote will vote on him to be in the HOF is another question.

HOF is so subjective. ATG should be the assessment and in the vein, I give consideration to the fact that to be a great, you have to beat at great or a near great and he has not done that yet. If he beats Canelo and Jacobs in a second fight and a few more defenses and unifications then I would rank him fairly high at 160, at least in the top 10 middleweights in history. It's my opinion but I think the John the beast Mugabi that fought Hagler would have inflicted serious punishment on GGG.
