Not that surprising really. Ward can't draw flies to ***** and Kov is marmite.

Ive always said if you were to read wards accolades off a sheet of paper you'd think he'd be the biggest star in world boxingComment

It's beyond weird that people are actually bragging about the low ppv for this fight. If anything, it doesn't make ward or rns look bad. After all, ward got a guaranteed 11m for both fights and rns is backed by a billionaire with multiple sports stars on the roster. It actually makes us boxing fans and media look bad. Everyone screams about paying to see the best fight the best. Here we had two undefeated p4p fighters who had promoted their upcoming fight for over a year, and only about 160k paid anything to see the best fight the best. After the fight, people cried robbery, called ward scared of a rematch, and beat the drum for the boxing world to pressure ward to fight Kovalev again. Once ward announced the fight, the same people who cried about the rematch suddenly openly talked about streaming the fight instead of paying for it. The worst part of it all is that Kovalev took the fight without demanding big money, and is relying on ppv to pay his purse. Meaning..... Kovalev played the part of a old school, deeper than money, I fight for legacy type of fighter that most guys claim they like a fighter to be. These same guys couldn't even pay to support the fighter they protest to believe in, and support his purse for the rematch. Although I'm a boxing fan myself......I think it's about time a promoter put the boxing world on blast, and tells the fans to either support when the best fight the best, or shut the h**l up when a guy gets paid to fight lesser opposition.Comment

Ward can't even sell out at home in Oakland.
If GGG had a show with 90,000k arena in his country they'd have to build a bigger arena.
Comparing ggg v Ward in popularity is like comparing eating dirty to eating pie.
Ward couldn't sell out in Vegas with another top p4p fighter.
GGG and Kov in Vegas would sell the roof off that place. Give me a break.Comment

Try all they want, fans are not ****** to buy into the Andre Ward act. His style is just short of Tyson biting ears. If they want mma they can get mma.Comment

Are you serious! It's been a long time since a Golovkin show failed to sell out. He's sold out both coast and in UK, and in Europe.
Ward can't even sell out at home in Oakland.

Golovkin isn't a massive draw like you ******s think.Comment

Clearly HBO's expensive master plan to trick the public into forgetting that Adonis Stevenson is the light heavyweight champion of the world was a giant failure . . .Comment

$2.3m in tickets sold, at least $9m generated on PPV, 5-7 event sponsors, Sky Sports paying up for the UK rights.
Selling tickets at an avg price of $350 (though dealing with the comps) versus selling 2 for $15 tickets to pack in a venue, I'd rather be working from the $350, lol
The two Ward-Kovalev fights, according to what's been publicly disclosed, have averaged what only Tom Loeffler has publicly confirmed for Golovkin's only PPV attempt, at a significantly higher price point.
Imagine Golovkin trying to sell a $500 ticket, let alone a $1000 ticket, lol
GGG v Kov sells out Vegas. Hell, ggg sales out everywhere he goes.
Ward had to give away tickets in Oakland.
No one likes Ward, he's a fake out of the ring and a cheat inside.Comment
