Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Wants Fair Deal, Competent Officials For Horn Rematch

Manny Pacquiao had already left town without saying much, even as criticism of the referee in the WBO welterweight world title fight and the judges who awarded a unanimous points decision to a previously almost anonymous Jeff Horn was still pouring in on social media. The 29-year-old Horn, a former schoolteacher who was given almost no hope of beating the 11-time world champion, was feted by fans and politicians in his hometown on Monday and didn't care too much about criticism - which started in a TV interview as soon as he left the ring on Sunday after the Battle of Brisbane.

Cherry pick gone wrong. Better to lose or get a bad decision to a top welterweight than an unknown. Now he is stuck in neutral or reverse.

The whole thing was a bit fishy. The ref did a terrible job not warning Horn for the excessive clinches. Further, it was kinda funny to see Horn reading from a pre-scripted speech after the fight. Honestly, I don't know if winning did any favors for Horn; welterweight is pretty stacked right now.

They should launch an inquiry into Bob Arum.

Manny is doing himself a disservice by even dignifying this thing bull****. Manny won the fight. Either way, this is a perfect time to go ahead and bow out. Manny can't beat the top welterweights out there. He could possibly drop down to 140 and fair a little better. Either way, his days as an elite fighter are done. He'll fight on, they always do. But it would be nice to not have to see an ATG like Manny legitimately lose to a bum like Horn, maybe someone worse.
