Fighting the best in the amateurs helps u find out a lot of stuff about yourself especially mentally and it exposes u to different styles, also the short high intensity fights help u accelerate ur thought process in the ring and develop good smart quick reactions, u will definitely need that later as a pro, not saying he should've had a long career as an amateur just saying a couple of tournaments abroad against adults would've helped him a lot later. I know he's been sparring a lot of good pros but competition and sparring are completely different, fighting under pressure and getting used to that from a young age is extremely important in boxing.
    He did best turning pro.

    Nothing beats pro experience.

Compare him to 26 y/o Conlan with only 3 fights.....who gets hit with everything.

Look how much stronger he is than Shakur Stevenson.

Staying in the ams is not helping him one bit as a pro.
    He looks like crap.

Farting around with 3 round fights in the amateurs is for euro-trash.

MOST Champs you see today....or from days gone by.... TURNED PRO EARLY in their careers

Devin is not lacking in any skill set...you can't hit him with rice at a wedding.

Talented fighter, he'll win a world title belt but I don't see him being truly great. He could have a good career like Devon Alexander for example but not live up to the super high expectations.

There is an extremely strong correlation between amateur success and pro success. You hone your skills in the ams and your strength, conditioning and heart in the pros. Personally I think top prospects should complete one Olympic cycle and then turn pro, which would generally make them in their early 20s at the time

          Way too early to tell.

Not surprised to see you call it hating. I know you're not the sharpest tool in the shed, but try being more reasonable. Nothing bad was said about him.

He's 18 years old and wouldn't be able to get by even those three right now. Nothing bad about that. When he's 20+ years old and becomes stronger and more skilled it's possible. At this point, he hasn't even stepped up past the low levels, and you know this from one quick glance at his record. To claim he'll do it in no time is a joke, seeing as he's not even fighting gatekeepers yet.
