According to your logic it should be ruled a draw?
BC he could land a good shot and it would no longer be a 10-8 round.....

Yes. Boxing is scored by rounds, if u want to win then win more rounds or knock the guy out.

I think they used to use it in the 80's.

I know the concept of round to round basis. It would still be on a round to round basis only with dominant rounds accounting for something like a knockdown does.

As of it now the scoring logic is like this:

          Hard knockdown = flash knockdown
          Flash knockdown > dominant round
Doing no damage but edging the round with 1 jab = dominant round

I dont see how people think that that is the right way to score a fight.

It was the same with degale vs jack. Degale won his rounds by a small margin. Jack won his rounds really big. Sure boxing is scored on a round to round basis, but I still just feel weird not seeing jack declared as the winner.

I'm pretty sure there were judges that scored 10-8 for one of the rounds in Pacquiao DLH

Maybe Maidana-Khan? I know one of the announcers called a 10-8 round forgot if the official judges also did

              I don't agree.

For example: Why stop a fight when a fight is getting pummeled badly if he doesn't go down, then?

If your opponents lands 50 punches in a round and you land 0 and look like you are on survival mode, I don't see a reason why 10-8 isn't a bad idea. Especially considering a hurt fighter clinches a lot

That's doing a disservice to the fighter who put a serious beating on his opponent throughout the round, I can never be against a 10-8. On top of that, it's not like it's common, those rounds are rare.

i think more need to be scored with all the bad judging going around. dominant rounds need to be rewarded. you could have a round where one guy gets nearly pummeled to death and score it 10-9 and then the next round is a debatable round and you give it to the guy getting pummeled so its an even fight? doesnt make much sense. it also inherently favors a-side guys who do very little and like to stink it out because they know they will get any somewhat close decision. there should be more 10-10 rounds since people are so terrible and biased at scoring nowadays. in ward kovalev 1 for example you would hae like 6-7 kovalev roudns maybe 1-2 ward roudns and 3-4 even roudns would be a true refection of what actually ahppened. but instead it was EVERY ROUND TO WARD THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE EVEN SOMEWHAT CLOSE and even some that werent like 10 but thats noather story

this **** needs to be scrapped.
                    Wrong.

Not all rounds are won by the same margin and the scorecards should reflect that.

                    We should see more 10-8's.

P.S. More 10-10's too, when warranted.

Yes more, but not "much more" judges are lazy and would start using it as a crutch
